I'm downloading the DVD-9 now. When it's done, do I just mount the image in Daemon Tools and then play it like a normal DVD?
They are. A high-definition version is planned for after Return of the Jedi Revisited, whenever that will be.xytan4 said:

That works just fine if you're not planning on burning a dual-layer DVD. I've done it myself many times.xytan4 said:

It has only downloaded one piece so far, those 30 minute waits on the free account really bites.
Yes, it will take a while, but if you're using jdownloader or something similar, the time will fly by!xytan4 said:

I am using Jdownloader, lol. How do I speed it up?
You don't, I'm just saying that its a lot better than NOT using jdownloader! ;-)xytan4 said:

Ah, I see. lol
Thanks for the help!
I'll pass the time by reading Star Wars: Allegiance by Timothy Zahn. :D

LOL! I actually haven't gotten to bed yet, I've been up all night and part of the day now researching Star Wars Revisited.
But I am getting quite tired, so I think it's time for me to say nighty night!
Edit: I think I might burn a DVD, I have a blu-ray player and they upconvert. But I'll think about that when it's done downloading and after I get some shuteye!

As many have noted, including myself, the DVD-9 on a large flat screen is unbelievably crisp. You have to see it to believe it. You could easily fool someone into believing it's HD.
Plus, the dual-layer disc has a few minor last-minute fixes that are not present in the single-layer. You really should grab the DVD-9.

The first time I watched it I played it on a Blu-ray player hooked to an HD projector that projects to something like a seven foot screen (awesome!) and my dad had a hard time believing it wasn't a blu-ray disc. It looks amazing.

Whoops! I missed the whole last page of the discussion.
Still downloading, but the wait is worth it. :D
And that's the great advantage of a laptop. I can just carry my computer into the living room, plug it into our 50 inch Plasma, and watch Star Wars Revisited in all its glory. No need to burn a disc!
Hello everyone,
I recently acquired a copy of Ady's ANH-Purist from a confidential source (okay, maybe it was tehparadox), and while it of course looks wonderful, once I unpacked it with winRAR and extracted the main vob files with PowerISO, I found the video to be riddled with small but noticeable frame-jumps. Am I doing something wrong? Could there be errors in the paradox upload? Has anyone else experienced any issues with the Purist edit? I'm racking my brain trying to figure out the culprit here...
Thanks! :)
GAITH! Wow, first post........unless you've been an OT member previously, I suppose. (yes/no?)
So anyway, there you have it, all you Purist searchers; it's at tehparadox. I don't even remember where I got mine, so I can't help with any errors. Sorry.
Hi Gaith :-)
And Ripplin, shouldn't you be concentrating on the draft? ;-)

Says the guy who also posted at OT during the draft...
Yeah, but I'm drafting WELL.

The only thing left now is to whine about how he did it, and if you're honest with yourselves, you'll admit that there will be people who will continue to find something to complain about no matter what he does or how he does it.
I guess I can't disagree with any of your post, except for the above. When Lucasfilm releases a decent version (which I think they will do, someday), my complaints end. It would be nice if they did that before I died :)

Yes, but the greater space often means that it can be encoded at a higher bitrate and still fit on one disk, improving the quality.

Only 28% complete, that 30 minute wait is ridiculous!
My advice - let it run overnight (or two overnights).
Or pay for a premium account.
Yeah, I'm broke right now. lol
