After viewing the dvd-9 version of Star Wars Revisited I noticed a difference between my dvd and the youtube video's. On the youtube video I noticed Panda Baba's arm and hove replacing Dr. Evazen's hand. In dvd-9 version that I downloaded it is Evazen's hand which was cauterized.

Which is the most current version?

So you got the DVD to burn?

You're welcome. :p

It's not an issue with current.  After releasing the official Adywan version, a group wanted a version which toned down some of the far reaching changes so that it was closer to the SW theatrical presentation.  This 'toned down' version is called the 'Purist' Edition:

Here's a thread where people discuss the merits of both versions:

That's not what he's looking for, though it is useful information.

The hand on the floor (Adywan's hand, actually) is the "final version", after months of heavy debate on this very thread. It is used in the DVD-5, DVD-9, and PURIST.

I thought the DVD-5 has the flipper, and the DVD-9 (final version) has the hand?

The only version with the flipper is the XVID. A shame, I kind of liked the flipper model. I wonder what became of it...

I emailed Adywan asking him if he could modify his DVD label for ANH Revisited and he said he no longer has the separate layers of the label to be centered on the disks according to the lightscribe template shown above. As you can see in the images shown above, the lightscribe template is smaller than the original size of the disk. So the lettering of on the cover is off center and slightly cut off. Does anybody know how to modify this so the text is centered?

I know that you aren't planning on doing a hi-def edit of ANH:R. I was curious though if you would be willing to release an AVCHD with upconverted video. Video upconversion of DVD's varies quite a bit from player to player, and as the rest of the Revisited Films will be HD, I'd like the highest possible video quality available when watching ANH.

Your video editing skills are amazing, and I'm sure that you'd be capable of finding a way to upconvert the video to match the very highest quality of Upconverting Players (Oppo, from what I've read). If that is at all possible, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, I continue to be amazed by your work, and will gladly continue to watch the DVD-9 version over the upcoming bluray release. :)

Preferred Saga:
1,2: Numeraljoker extended
3: L8wrtr
4,6-9: Hal9000
5: Adywan

nightstalkerpoet, I recommend investing in a BluRay player that upconverts DVDs. I know that's not what you're looking for, but hear me out.

Software upconversion is a permanent change. It will introduce artifacts that are not present in the DVD9 and you'll be stuck with them. Five years from now, your new 60" LED flatscreen will reveal every little defect. On the other hand, five years from now, a new player will upconvert that DVD9 much better than any software could today.

In short, stick with the DVD9, and let future hardware advancements do the heavy-lifting.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, I definitely do understand the benefits of that. I actually have an upconverting bluray player, but have found that the upconversions soften detail quite a bit.The other thing is that a portion of the edit was edited from HD footage. The quality difference might stick out, but might as well have as much HD as possible.

I didn't use any HD footage for the edit. I was too far into the edit before a HD source became available and i didn't want to start from scratch. There wouldn't be any benefit for me to release an upscaled version of ANH:R and i won't be doing a HD version of ANH:R unless a restored HD version of the theatrical edition miraculously shows up and we all know that isn't going to happen. You are better off letting a good player upscale the DVD

Ady, I just finally got my hands on the DVD9 version, and I just wanted to say that (so far... watching as I type) the Isolated Music Track is wonderful. Thanks so much for putting this on the disc, and I really hope you do the same with the DVD9 version of ESB:R.

Oh, and I really like the multi-angle effects bit, and the Biggs scene too. Thanks for putting those on!
