They also referenced the radio interview, I guess that helped.

About the change list, should I post my full change list on there, or just add a link to the page? Its a bit much for a wiki-entry, i think...

I've been hunting and hunting for the NTSC DVD .iso of this for several hours and I can't turn up any reliable torrents at all. I thought I had found something on FanEdit but it turned out to be a bogus DLC file, asking me to install some software called JDownloader. I'm normally hesitant to install such software, but I did anyway and that still doesn't work with the file. I really want to watch this!

Also, I'm assuming that the .iso will work normally in Daemon Tools right? I don't have a working DVD drive so I can't burn it.

Speaking of purist edition, where can I find that?  haha.

A dlc file is an easier way of loading many links in one go into jdownloader. It's pretty commonly used nowadays. You say the it won't download in jdownloader. Make sure that your firewall isn't blocking the program first. Here's what to do:

Open jdownloader then got to the top menu and select "links>add links>add container" and import the dlc file. Click on the "linkgrabber" tab & you will see the files.  let the program check the links to see if they are all active. Once that is done then click on "continue with all" and it will start the download. It may take some time if you haven't got a premium rapidhsare account but it's still better than torrents

I tried that earlier and it didn't work, but I tried it just now and now it seems to be working. Thanks!

I almost posted the same.   It's been a long time since I've seen that!

Jdownloader can be like that sometimes, Captain Caveman.  Let me know if you have further problems and I'll show a workaround.

Ok JDownloader is starting to crap out. It started whining to me about something involving reconnecting and not it won't download anything at all. It's stuck on the 2nd file, stuck with a 5 minute timer that keeps repeating itself over and over, while the other files say Waiting for new IP.

I still wish there was a torrent for this since it's way less hassle it seems. Anyway to make this work?

If it's on rapidshare, there you go; there's a 45-minute wait inbetween files.  JDownloader just serves to wait it out for you so you don't have to remember. Although, sometimes, I have been lucky enough for it to waive the wait a few times.  Doesn't happen often though.

So is the 5 minute timer just constantly checking to see if the 45 minutes are up, then? I can just leave it alone and it'll all be good?

Update: Looks like it started working now, and file 2 is downloading. Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm sorry but this program is simply awful. The graphics bugged out on me and I had to completely close it and re-open it, and now I can't get it to resume the downloads at all. All it says is Aborted, file already exists on one of them and I have no idea what to do.

Could someone please link me to a torrent of the NTSC DVD?

Great, now it seems to have capped at 10 KB/s.

It says that anyway if you restart the program and it finds a part you already have.

Don't panic!

I had quite a few fluffs when I was getting used to Jdownloader and now I use it all the time to get edits.

I had to use it a lot about a year ago, I lost my whole collection when my hard drive decided to go tatty bye-byes on me.

It's a really, really good program once you get used to it.

45 minutes?  Try 15.

Why does it cap the file speed at 10 KB/s? At this rate it'll take 9 days to finish!

Author

It's because you're a free user.  You want high speed, you have to pay to become a premium member.  A 30 day membership is only about $10 US.

One thing I've learned using jdownloader - don't watch it work too much.  Speeds vary quite a bit as a free user on RS, and yes sometimes speed is that low, but it's usually in the 50-150 kb/s (rough estimate) range.  It depends on factors like time of day and overall usage by others.

Usually I just let it run continuously for a few days and eventually everything will get downloaded.

I never had it throttled anything like that much. You can manually limit the download rate in jdownloader (presumably so as not to go over your quota/make the rest of your internets slow) and that might be set to only 10KB/s. If that's the case, then up that limit to something more sensible.

I can't find such an option to change the download rate, and it randomly just stops downloading. I had to force it to download the next part after it had apparently been stuck for a good while. I'm sorry but I just simply cannot see the appeal in this program. It's been very buggy all day long and very confusing to operation. This is why I'm so desperate for a torrent of it, but I can't find any dependable websites or torrents that aren't bogus.

Update: Well I just managed to find the option to change the speed and now it's going at a much more reasonable 120 KB/s. I still find the program difficult to use though as it doesn't like to automatically advance to the next file.

How do I tell it to automatically start the next download? It did it for the first few but now it just sets there.

Yes it's a long list of .rar files. I only tried to change settings to get the program to even work in the first place.
