Interestingly enough, Ady said on the "JJ Abrams is Ruining Star Trek" thread that his wife doesn't like Star Wars or Star Trek.  I wonder what she thinks of his endless devotion to working on them and taking up their house with models for it....

Why did Adywan remove the flying droid from this shot?

I don't mind the change, but I don't see why it needed to be removed?

Could somebody with the GOUT post this frame from the GOUT? This was taken from revisited.

Yeah, suddenly eyes are drawn to the flying CG droid when it's the Stormtrooper that is supposed to be the focus of the shot.

I realize Lucas was trying to "liven things up," but not every shot needs a crowded background.

One change I didn't get was removing the Ronto from the tail end of "Not the droids you're looking for." exchange scene. All the dialogue was done with, & it it was perfect the way the Stormtrooper stepped back to reveal the Ronto coming around the corner of the buildings. I understand why the probe droid was removed from the background during the exchange though.

Because Sevb32 if I wanted to see Ronto ass, I'd look in the mirror.....myself along with MILLIONS of others, didn't want to see the tail end of a Ronto when we were trying to watch our favorite movie of all time....

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

The "Dewback" has always been there.  Ady changed the direction of the sun(s?) to match the direction it is when Luke and Obi-Wan enter a few seconds later.

This is what Sevb is talking about.  Either Ady didn't like it, or I suspect he lacked the elements to add it behind the aforementioned Ronto Butt since all those elements had to come from a pre-SE source, so he had to delete it here.

Ah my mistake.

That was also a welcomed change Adywan made. It didn't need to be there, added nothing to the scene, glad it was removed.

Those Rontos only look ok as extra background detail when they are out of focus or obscured by motion blur (the CGI wasn't even up to the state of the art of the day and has dated terribly).

I suppose they do add to the feeling that it's an alien world with alien creatures (just as the Banthas and Dewbacks do) but only when they look convincing.

Often the Tauntauns don't look convincing in ESB (which I know Ady is going to tinker with, or already has) and people accept that because of the limitations of the day, not because they aren't really there half the time.

I don't think the crime is having them there it's having them there looking out of place and I think Ady struck the right balance with them and the CGI Dewbacks.

At least we don't have the silly painted on Jawas swinging around  them and construction droids beating the crap out of Imperial probe things now.

Yeah, and it's pretty sad considering who made it. :p I thought Jabba looked awful in 1997 and then again in 2004. Think they'll do him again?

Bad and/or obvious CGI makes me roll my eyes. One recent example was in The Day the Earth Stood Still. Did they really have to make a CG helicopter taking off? Surely that cost more than just, I dunno, renting a helicopter for the day? Oh well...

They could easily use Jurassic Park's CG to make these whatever alien dinos.

If you look closely, even to Ady's R, version when luke says the javas to get away, see the dino in the back. In one part it pop ups of the ground because of bad tracking ;)
