I don't have a dual layer DVD with me right now. How do I convert it to work on PowerDVD 8?

I wish I could show you an image of what I have, but I only know windows vista has that capability.

You can do that with any version. Just hit the 'Print Scr' button on your keyboard, then open a program like MS Paint and go to 'Edit' and hit 'Paste.' It'll paste whatever was on the screen.

Here are the Extracted files. Am I missing anything? By the way Ripplin, thanks for the tip, I had no idea!!!

There's nothing in the Audio_TS folder. That can't be right?

Actually I opened the first VIDEO_TS file with Power DVD 8 and it started working.

Adywan, I thought you changed this shot. In a youtube video it shows the mountain horizone painted differently to look more like the Tatooine (spelling?) from TPM.

Adywan, there is one continuity error you forgot... well, one that wasn't addressed that I know of anyways. In this scene here:

It shows the death star moving much faster than what the actual rate is for 30 minuets.

AUDIO_TS folders will have nothing in them unless it's a DVD-Audio (which have nothing in the VIDEO_TS folders unless it's a hybrid DVD-Video/Audio, which most of them are).

Those are all the necessary DVD files (though technically all you *need* is a VIDEO_TS folder), but I was under the impression that the RapidShare download was an ISO file.  You didn't extract that with WinRar, did you?  IIRC, that causes problems.  If it works in PowerDVD, fine, but don't try to burn those folders if you have the ISO file somewhere - THAT'S what you need to burn.

And I think his intention there was to match the movement of the original display, but fix the time (which was wildly inconsistent originally) and update the look in general a bit.  I don't think he was too concerned about the speed at which the DS was travelling.  Besides, at the real rate it would have barely appeared to be moving at all, which isn't good for dramatic purpose.  It's simply artistic license.

And I don't recall that R2 shot ever being replaced.  Besides, the DVD-9 is the final version, and Ady himself has stated there will be no further changes to ANH.  On top of that, he's lost the original files, so the DVD-9 that you now have is the best ANH:R will ever look (which is pretty fantastic in my opinion).

I found this on youtube:

I like this image much better. I was really disappointed when I didn't see this replaced with the original shot. Why didn't you use it Adywan?

Adywan, did you make multiple menu styples for this like the '04 DVDs? Or is it just this one:

He did change that scene to make the view of the canyon look more like it did in AOTC.  The YouTube video frame that you have here is mostly likey from my account.  I uploaded the whole movie, but I didn't download the DVD-9 version.

Tell me, which one do you like better?

Of course, the resolution on the top one is a lot better than what you see there. I copied it from youtube.

That frame is from the DVD-9 version. At least the DVD-9 version from Link Talk. So is that modified horizon from the DVD-5 version?

What changes/additions were made between the DVD-5 and DVD-9 versions?

There are obviously some easter eggs in the DVD. Not all the videos are showing up in the DVD menus. Like the "Alternate Concept Scene: Escaping the Death Star" and "Jar Jar was here."

I wish this was simpler. I wish it was just one big file you download and then once it's finished it is ready to play! I'm going to try this one more time before calling it a night. If I can't get it to work, perhaps Adywan, you could mail me the DVDs? I will gladly pay the full price plus a little profit as long as it is reasonable.

If you keep having problems, send me a PM and I'll hook you up (as long as you're looking for the NTSC DVD-9 and not the PAL).

I don't know if it is okay to pay for the price of the disk, but I'm assuming it is not okay for there to be profits involved. I forgot about that. Please don't ban me.

What? You think what you said here will get you banned?

To answer a slightly earlier question, there was only the one menu for Revisited; Adywan did not do the whole "1 of 3 random menus" thing. Although it was a nice touch I think that he kept the same general look and feel of the official 2004 DVD's.

Janskeet, you really don't need to make this many posts in a row - if you have something else to say, you can always edit your post.  There's a "Quick edit" button right below the "view profile" button.

And don't worry about getting banned, you won't be.  If you want a burned copy, just PM me and I'll mail you one for free, which is what I meant by "hook you up" earlier :-)

DVD9 has some more bonus materials and some scenes are slight altered. All the info is in the PDF or you can run the trivia track ;). 005 has at his sig all the comparison and i think at some photos says what changed between the versions ;)

Maybe the youtube version is the Xvid one that is a "workprint" of the revisited before the final release.

Looks that way.  I don't have the Xvid here with me, but the DVD-5 and DVD-9 have the original background.

The description for the DVD-9 on fanedits.com has the changes between the DVD-5 and DVD-9.

Yes, Ady's comparison shots are in my sig. :-D

I think so.  It took me a few attempts to successfully download the DVD-5 version.  Atleast now I know what to do when ESB:R is up for download.
