I'm more concerned with the video than the audio because the two versions had different transitions and shots and I'm too lazy to look through them individually but I'd be interested to know.

For some reason, I'm inclined to say the 70mm version-but I may be wrong.

Well the two versions were actually different cuts
The 70mm version didn't have the quick fades when Vader & Luke are communicating telepathicly at the end. So, I would imagine your answer would be the 35mm cut. Check wookiepedia or wikipedia for info on the differences between the two cuts.
