so i watched Pitch Black for the first time this weekend, and i actually enjoyed it. I am one to be extremely critical of most everything, but especially movie. I had heard many, many a bad thing about the movie, but i would say that i was pleasantly surprised, i would never dream of calling it a good movie, but i would still say that i was entertained by it. So my question to y'all is what did you think of this movie, and should i go and put forth effort to see the sequel? Also what types of back stories are available? I checked around and only found the movie novalizations, and was wondering if that was it. Are they worth the read? Any info is good info...

thanks

There's also an Animated Feature and a kickass game for the XBOX.

The sequel is very different from Pitch Black, but entertaining nonetheless.

I think the ending makes the whole experience worth it.

Yeah, I saw part of the animated thing on MTV last night. Beautifully drawn.

I really wanted to see the movie but never got around to it. Guess I can rent it soon.

I saw the sequel before I saw the original. If you're going to see The Chronicles of Riddick, be forewarned that the tone is very different and so is the look. That being said, I really enjoyed Chronicles. I still haven't seen Dark Fury (the animated adventure), but it apparently bridges the gap between the two films and may be worth a look.

I thought the game was good too, nice graphics and satisfying gameplay.

Ew... that sounds more than a little gross. Is it a very blood y game?

The part I like about cracking necks*, besides the sound, is the different ways you can do it.

*In the game of course

Isn't Riddick only being released as a Director's Cut?

More violence, but also more character development.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Hmm, I think I might just pick it up now.
