Yeah well any deleted scenes would be good, but I feel like any trouble in production is always hidden forever by Disney.

Yep. Cut out all the fanservice. Excise Evazan & Ponda Baba’s pointless cameo, and all the Vader scenes. Any deleted footage better fleshing out the Ersos and their relationships with Krennic and Saw Gerrera should be reinserted also. A new ending bringing the film more in-line with the Legends continuity would be nice, too, if possible.

When the show’s done somebody will probably make a 40 or 50 minute version of Rogue One that’s basically just a series finale for Andor.
All his life has he looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph!

NFBisms did already, and it’s pretty heckin’ good.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Nice. Maybe I’ll watch it when season 2 comes out.

I didn’t realize the potential Rogue One had until I saw what Tony Gilroy was capable of doing with Andor. It really puts Rogue One in a different light. I always thought Rogue One was mediocre. The main problem is the pacing and the characterization. The movie jumps around too fast (especially in the beginning) to really let any of the events resonate, which is a common problem with modern movies. Also, Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor just came off to me as way too under-characterized. We needed to spend more time with them before the main events of the film, in order to get a sense of who they are. I could see some bare outlines of personality and chemistry in Erso and Andor, but not anything close to Original Trilogy levels. But now that I’ve seen Andor, which has amazing characterization, Rogue One comes off more as an imperfect, missed opportunity, rather than something hopelessly mediocre which I can just write off.
Guess it says a lot about how excited people are about this upcoming movie that it’s now turned into a thread discussing Rogue One.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of Rogue One when I originally saw it, but it grew on me after I watched Andor. I won’t go into too much detail on my thoughts, but I think it’s good, not great.

It’s been a spell since I watched Rogue One, before Andor was a blip on the radar. Perhaps I’d be better able to appreciate Andor’s character arc, but I don’t see any of the film’s other flaws being magically fixed by this show’s existence. Not unless the Ersos/Krennic figure heavily into this upcoming final season.

Rumor has it that Lawrence Kasdan is gonna be the new writer of this.

Where did you hear this?
“Disney Pulls 2026 ‘Star Wars’ Movie From Release Calendar”

Not unexpected.
Replaced on the schedule by Ice Age 6. Wow.

They have no idea what they’re doing anymore, it’s really sad.
This is honestly hilarious at this point.
What a joke. It’s time to clean house at Lucasfilm.
The Star Wars Saga:
I · II · III · IV · V · VI · VII · VIII · IX | Rogue One · Solo
What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality…
Bringing Daisy on stage at celebration to announce a fake movie is beyond insane. To say I’m pissed at Disney once again is understatement. Pulled from 2026 Christmas release is un-freakin believable.

😂😂😂😂 Oh man. The mouse house is as predictable as water in a river.
We deserve better.
WHAT HAVE I DONE?
The Ancient Lore
Kenobi: A Star Wars Story
Harry Potter Revisited
Game of Thrones Film Edits
Titanic Restructured
… and more.
Pulled from 2026 Christmas release is un-freakin believable.
It really isn’t, though.
Dune: Messiah is also set for that same date.
The irony of all of this to me is that we went from five movies that got rushed through production to five years of streaming shows without a single new theatrical film. Now the first one we actually get won’t be any of the originally announced projects but a continuation of one of the shows.
Maybe this is actually a good thing, since this way there’s less of a chance they rush unfinished scripts before the camera.

I don’t know what to think. Larry hasn’t written a good script is so long I can’t recall the last film.
We are far removed in time from his writing the Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Big Chill, Continental Divide and the Bodyguard. Silverado, or Wyatt Earp.
I think he was solid in the 1980s-1990s. What other than the dreadful, Dreamcatcher has he written in modern times other than unused draft on Clash of the Titans remake. Without pointing to Disney Star Wars.
You can’t because George Lucas plucked him out of retirement to write the Han Solo movie. And then Kathy put him on episode 7.
Everyone was like ZOMG he should have written the prequel; George is the problem remove him from the equation and hire Larry and we’ll get magic.
