POTC's sequel DMC is good and by reading the new 100 page script of AWE I can say that it is even better than DMC, and closer to the original in style and pacing.

Whoa! Having not a clue what POTC, DMA, AWE are I didn't get much out of that last post. But I did get that AWE is more like POTC than DMC was.

POTC-Pirates of the Caribbean

DMC-Dead Man's Chest (the sequel to The Curse of the Black Pearl)

AWE- At World's End (the sequel to Dead Man's Chest)

I hope your right about POTC; otherwise we could have the Matrix Revolutions in the 18th century

BTW, which do you consider worse: ROTS or the Matrix Revolutions

Don't worry AWE is nothing like the fiasco that was The Matrix Revolutions.

And about which film I consider to be worse ROTS or The Matrix Revolutions, both. They were both letdowns.

Co, don't take this the wrong way, but do you have a sequel phobia?

I'm patiently awaiting "Charlotte's Web 2: Revenge of the Spiders." More action, more FX, and a plot twist that will rival The Sixth Sense: Fern is actually Templeton's daughter.

Actually, I did see a sequel to Charlotte's Web on Cartoon Network recently. It starred Wilbur and Charlotte's daughters. Bleh. It was all modernized and bore little resemblance to the cartoon movie upon which it was based.

This sounds like something Disney would concoct. Like Cinderella 2: "And they lived happily ever after ... until the next morning ..."
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

Yeah, if you want to get on the bandwagon of sequel-phobia, um, almost any straight-to-video sequel Disney has ever made! Especially when they're of movies that are at least a generation old. Did we really need a sequel for Bambi? Do we need two for Cinderella? Geez, give me a break! The time for sequels for those were about two or three generations ago.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Uh, more like AWE is the second half of DMC. So I think DMC and AWE would be considered a sequel to POTC.

No, the entire PT is worse than just about every sequel put out by anyone

Have you seen the tv funhouse skits "Disney Vault" and "Bambi 2002" which make fun of the sequels? They are so funny, a real accomplishment for Saturday Night Live today. I'm trying to think of examples of good sequels. Back to the Future II and III were good. All 3 Indiana Jones movies were good. I thought Shrek 2 was better. Can someone explain why Fantastic Four is getting a sequel. I thought it was pretty much considered average at best.
As for Star Wars, I thought Phantom Menace and Sith were ok. Although some people think of TPM as slow and boring, I think that's better than a bunch of video game action scenes that don't seem to make much sense but look really cool. Clones is without a doubt the worst Star Wars film because for one thing, it's too confusing. I'm still not completely sure why there was an assassination attempt on Padme. And there are all these battles and fights and I have no idea who's fighting who and what the point is. At least I understood what Lucas was trying to do with the romance scenes. They fall in love even though its forbidden.
And the other thing the prequels had going for them was the set designs, costumes and concept art. I thought those were much better than the original films. The base on Hoth looked like it had plastic walls, not carved out of real ice. And cloud city was visually boring, something the SE actually improved. Jabba's lair didn't feel much like a palace.

Take back the trilogy. Execute Order '77

Don't all movies based on comic books get sequels these days? As long as they at least break even anyway.

While I agree about what the prequels had going for them, it doesn't really make up for a lack of story. I still think the Hoth base, Cloud City, and Jabba's palace are perfect. Jabba's a slimey crime boss. It's suppose to be dark, dank, and creepy. It would probably look out of place if it was all shiney and made of gold.
