As this was the same seller as that recent Star Wars print, I wonder if they've got the elusive Empire Super 8? (Not released by Derann.)

I e-mailed poita. Hopefully, he'll reply soon.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Hoping someone from ot.com is on this.

I spoke with poita and he decided not to bid on it after being told by the seller that it's terribly blue-shifted and is a "blue mess" during the Ewok battle scenes.

Shocking, as I somehow thought Derann prints were immune to that sort of thing. As Jaxxon was watching the auction, I'll pass that info along. :)

BTW, did anyone here get this one?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAKING-STAR-WARS-16mm-film-print-GREAT-COLOR-2-Reels-RARE-/290890548214

Derran did from time to time sell 'seconds' cheaply, this print is one of those, the final reel is literally a blue mess. The owner of the print didn't know that either when he bought it, the seller who sold it to him was also unaware.

Many Derran prints are never watched, they are collected and put on the shelf.

He doesn't have the super8 ESB, I can get a hold of one though, but it is around a grand. I'm trying to put together a way to do it. I'm thinking of maybe seeing if a bunch of people want to go in on it and be first to get a hold of the test scans and give feedback and be along for the journey so to speak.

If 20 people bought a $50 share each then we could get it, or if some people put in I could cover the shortfall, I'll start up a thread for it, I'd hate to see the opportunity pass. I've seen the ESB print in question and it is  gorgeous.

Puggo, could you help with some subtitle questions?

The first question is an easy one: how do the ROTP burnt-in subtitles spell "Wookiee"?  Please oh please tell me we're not about to have a new canon spelling ;)

The second question is harder to figure out how to answer precisely.  What are the ROTP burnt-in subtitle timings?  But since my project is GOUT-synced, I'll have to figure out a way to convert your frames to GOUT-timed equivalents, and any help would be appreciated there too...

It's "Wookiee" in the theatrical prints.

You can find the theatrical subtitle timings for GOUT in my script here: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Greedo-Jabba-subtitles-theatrical-placement-and-fonts/topic/11463/

It was based on Video Collector's "theater performance" - Jedi bootleg.

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Sincerely, Lynne Hale publicity@lucasfilm.com

I was wondering about those... so all of the Jedi sub timings are based on authoritative references?  I guess I was thinking we were using Empire of Dreams exclusively and only had a subset.

I'll take the hit and be That Guy....

Where does ROTP stand? Is it being color-corrected by Harmy? Do we have an ETA?

I'm still excited about Puggo Grande and I don't mean to push, I'm just excited to see what looks like possibly the cleanest of the three transfers.

You mean the one in which he decides to name it Return Of The Pug? Does't really answer my question.

Apologies for hallucinating. I read that sentence multiple times and each time it was interpreted by my brain as "what does ROTP stand for?".

Harmy agreed to color time it, but I have been so busy at school I haven't done anything in about a month.

On an interesting related note, I will be visiting Prague in early June (right after the semester ends), and so worst-case scenario, I'll hand Harmy a thumb drive then with the raw captures on it, in person.

I was really hoping this would make the 30th anniversary, but it's more important to have the color timing done right.

The Prague scenario sounds very cloak and dagger. Make sure there are no suspicious bearded men wearing flannel around when you meet up with Harmy. ;)

Thanks AntcuFaalb - I'll now see this every time I watch BTTF 3 in the future. Something I didn't expect in a thread about Return of the Jedi...

My brother will be over there at the same time, I may get him to drop something over as well.

We should have the first Prague OT Fest.

I will be hand-delivering the raw ROTP captures to Harmy in Prague in the second weekend of June.

Could you at least pretend to do a dead-drop at some anonymous park bench?  It'd be a shame to get so close to being a spy thriller and miss out on the finer points.
