Wow.... The man really has no real excuse as to why it was that bad....wow...
No its true. Its on the web documentary all i need is an idea. Lucas says "its the first of November 1994, today is the start of my writing on the new star wars series."

Star Wars took nearly as long the treatment was written in '73 and the final script was delivered in 76 and they revised as the shooting went on, even in the first part of the real filming script Luke was Luke Starkiller until he became Skywalker.
About 4 years.
Phantom took a little longer, but Lucas was rusty 16 years is a long ass time.
Supposedly Carrie Fisher did an uncredited polish on the Phantom Menace finished script, she was one of the first people Lucas gave a copy to read.
Also Jonathan Hales CO-wrote the Attack of the Clones script.
Lucas appears to have written Sith all on his lonesome and also the film started really in the art department without a script and even the finished film deviated from the initial script in how anakin's turn happened.
Only Lucas has said what he changed the initial finished script has never been leaked or published.

Hello, I'm just curious if a "fixed" version is still on the way, with the technical errors in audio and such? Thanks.

Ditto. Can anyone PM me a direct link to part 4?
It showed up eventually.
fixed version is going to happen eventually, but it might be a little while. I plan to rerelease all of my SW edits in HD with new changes and added deleted scenes from the Blu-Rays. I also intend to include my first try at TPM in that run.
So, not soon, but yes it will be coming. There are some things I want to change, the music over Vader's death will go back to the original version, and some of the changes I did I will redo so they are executed better. And again, I'm going to use HD quality, probably Harmy's despecialized edition if he's cool with it.

That sounds utterly fantastic! HD edits would be astounding. Are you planning to take a shot at editing ANH or ESB; maybe an alternate version with the deleted scenes back in and some pacing cuts? Most people tend to consider them perfect but I always love to see a different version.

Great news!

That would be a fantastic base, as the colors on those are spot on. You also don't need to worry about removing any of the SE changes yourself.
Harmy's a pretty understanding fellow. If you ask nicely, I'm pretty sure he'll be cool with it.
Just found this awesome image for a potential Jedi Fan Edit cover -- something I just haven't learned to do myself.
Here's a link to a bigger version: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/225/1513821318435763large.jpg/
Hi Spence,
Could you please include the URL for this edit on your very first post? I've skimmed through a few posts, and it appears that it's available through MegaUpload, but I don't want to comb through 27 pages to find it. :p
Thanks,
Visor

Not allowed - PM only. Or try fanedit.info.

Thanks; I managed to figure out JDownloader and found the DLC file on fanedit.info. It's somewhat similar to downloading nzb files from Newsgroups, only more of a pain due to Megaupload's strict connection limits.
I just skimmed through the movie, but I've decided not to keep it. While there were some editing choices that I liked (i.e. moving Luke & Yoda to the beginning, and removing most of Han's corny dialog), there were too many others that I found to be more distracting than helpful. I really don't want to criticize Spence on all his hard work, so I'll just leave it at that. ;)
Regards,
Visor
just found this and I thought it was a terrific job -- RotJ was always a distant third to New Hope and Empire for me as well, and this goes a long way toward narrowing that gap.
The only thing I'd change is editing out Luke's explanation to Leia that she is his sister. There isn't a single other mention of it in the movie at this point (except for Yoda's "there is another," which is nice and ambiguous), and it's just so darn awkward that I'd love to see it gone. I know that you're officially messing with the continuity at that point (not to mention that it might be tough to leave in the other parts of that conversation), but I think it'd be an improvement.
Although I really enjoyed your edit i felt you took too much out it almost felt like a TV advert on Tatooine and characters were not given enough time to develop. Also there was no attempt to fix the transitions from Tatooine to where ever Luke Went... The Duel on the Executor did not work either for me but the duel itself was very good IMO of what you did there
If you are interested we are chucking some ideas around on ROTJ in the Collabrative editing thread. As you have been in deep on editing ROTJ even if you did not want to collaborate your experience with the material and so fourth might help us get a few steps ahead. And you simply may find it interesting as we butt our heads against the same problems you came across.
The purpose is to make the Ultimate ROTJ even if the final resulting Video Quality is not quite as good as can be as deleted scenes are planned to be incorporated to fill in various spaces.
Either Way, thankyou for the Work you did on ROTJ it was certainly a unique take on the film which I enjoyed overall, but I prefer the Original in the first Half and somewhat yours in the second.
Just found out about this edit, looked at fanedit.info and it seems to be MIA, plus all the rapidshare links are dead. Can one still get a copy of this?
I have the same request as darnbirch, does anyone have a copy they can send me? Possibly via my dropbox, or know of any active downloads?

Make a request in the Fanedit.org forum and there's a good chance it will be uploaded to fanedit.info. (by TV's Frink I think)
.........
I can't locate my copy but it will get reposted by someone else.

[Fett is] a goes-where-the-money-is bad guy...
And that's exactly why I (personally) think he doesn't belong in ROTJ at all. Why is he hanging around Jabba's palace? Shouldn't he be off, I don't know, collecting bounties or something? As it is he stands around doing nothing until he gets killed by accident.
there really is no reason for boba fett to be there?uh how about the fact he brought han solo to jabba the hutt.everybody seems to know this but you.
"you make a living by what you get,but you make a life by what you give" winston churchill
He is talking about storytelling rather than plausibility. But even then, there are plenty of reasons why Fett wouldn't be there. He's a bounty hunter, and bounty hunters have to make a living catching folks. I don't have a problem with Fett being there, but I can see others' reasoning. He's not alone in his view, and there is no need to be rude, especially since you're pretty new and no one has had a chance to get to know you or your style.

Wow, looks like I'm bringing this topic back from the dead.
I just downloaded this, but the RAR files appear to be password protected. Any ideas?
