How's that orange lightsaber coming along? :P

I'm in the UK and mine downloaded ok, if that helps. I obv had that little blip with part 21 being missing first time, but other than that, no problems. Wish I could be of more help than that.

For sure Spence, I will listen to all of your extras, you have earned it. I guess on a personal level I prefer something in between your version and the official one, but I sort of expected that. You've done a great job at re-interpreting ROTJ as best as can be done. I love the boldness with which you cast aside plot points and character traits, even if sometimes I felt it worked against you. ROTJ needed an edit as bold as this, so congrats to an effort that has some serious balls, for better or worse.

haha, that's just my crappy blackberry. It's the most useful feature of it, other than its paper weight functionality.

Out of curiosity, would you consider revising this edit if there turn out to be potentially-useful deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray?

I don't edit in HD though, so it wouldn't be an HD version. Just including the deleted scenes.

Oh, and there's been some comments about the scene where Han and Leia get captured and Luke senses that they are in trouble. I know that moment isn't perfect, but that footage is being completely repurposed for something it wasn't intended for, so I was a little limited in what footage actually exists. I did what I could with it, and tried to have the moment resemble the scene in Empire when Leia sense Luke after the Vader duel. It's kind of impossible to make that moment perfect, but I'm happy that it works well enough.

Also the pace at Jabba's was very tricky. It didn't make sense to spend a lot of time with the droids getting into Jabba's, as he's already been established in an earlier scene. When Luke finally arrives, it's time to get down to business, so I didn't want that to take too long. In addition, I really like not knowing why Bib allows Luke to enter, and then it gets revealed later that he's being mind tricked. It's kind of a fun moment and allows for a good reaction from Jabba.

When transitioning from Tattooine to the fleet, I wish there was an additional scene to put in there, but it didn't really exist. Again, a lot of these issues with the pacing at the beginning are a byproduct of my lack of material. I just had to do the best I could with what I had. Being a rather radical departure from the original, it was never going to be perfect. But in the spirit of doing something interesting, I'll settle for it just being "good."
