Idea: Rescoring AOTC DVD: Fan edit?

I know that alot of fans don’t like Attack of the Clones, and I don’t blame them. However, I can sit down, watch the film and enjoy it.

Following a bunch of links, the rabbit whole lead me to this story: http://jwfan.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=43

It shows where each piece of released and unreleased music from AOTC goes.

What I find most interesting, and we’ve discussed this before, is the scoring problems in the Battle on Genosis.

Which leads me to my question: Has anyone thought about rescoring AOTC (using Williams music of course) to either fix the errors by Lucas or to clean up the mess during the Battle?

Furthermore, before my HDD crashed a few months back, I was working on reinserting the original score into ESB, particularly the music Lucas removed for reasons I still don’t understand. Has anyone else attempted this, and if so, please share.

A couple of years ago I re-inserted the original score for Empire. It turned out to give quite a different feeling to the scenes. I dubbed the entire movie so I could sit and watch in it's entirety. I used the SE soundtrack. There is accually a lot of music that was taken out.

As would I. I particularly thought the opening was ALOT better (I can't believe I would ever say that about someting in ESB) with the original Williams score. More omnious.

Thanks for that link! I'm a huge fan of John Williams and it really interested. It also made me very irritated about all those unreleased cues and alternate arrangements. The lack of this music really irks me because it's going to make my edit very difficult.

That having been said, my edit is going to include some coherent action music for the arena scene, the original end credit music, and some other alternate takes on the soundtrack.

So if that's what you were wondering, I'm going to be doing a lot of that in my edit (which isn't too hard because I'm redoing the sound mix to begin with).

Trooperman--

Is there a thread where you discuss your edits for AOTC? I'd like to hear what you're planning if you are sharing your plans.

I felt the MagnoliaFan edit was a great improvement, but I think there's still more potential there to be realized.

Yes: it's called Re-dubbing the Prequels.
And I'd love to hear your ideas for how to improve Ep. II.
