does anyone have the Unrated Japanese Laserdisc that they could preserve onto DVD?. i have the first workprint version (there is a workprint ‘B’ out now) with lots of additional scenes but quality is not great and the only offical dvd releases are the cut down R-rated version.

the comparison at dvdcompare (a local for me) says

The Japan Laserdisc “Unrated version” has a running time of 89.20 mins (NTSC), 18 Seconds longer then the “R-rated Theatrical” (NTSC) version, what mainly misses two bloody shots in the head and a boat crew member hand being cut off.

and the listing for it is here at http://japanld.free.fr/laserdisc.php?id=31123

i couldn’t find a request thread so i am sorry for opening a new thread for this.

Is this the Dolph Lungren version? Why would you want this turkey? He doesn't even wear the right shirt!

(Not that I was able to stay awake through the most recent version either...)

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

I'm almost positive that the seconds of footage you're talking about are included in the "workprint B" version (which I do not have, just version A).

Why would we want this turkey? Because it's dark as hell.

I would have prefered watching these in pitch black.

Fuck both the Punisher movies ... b-movie slices of shit.

True, but for the most part, comics themselves are b-movies, just in a different format. That's why I like stuff like the original Punisher movie and the Generation X movie more than, say, the X-Men or Spiderman flicks.

Comic book films, at their best, are films of imagination. B-movies are movies made by people without imagination.

The two are incompatible.

A lack of imagination has ruined every comic film of late, apart from the Spiderman films and Sin City. The worst crime a comic book film can commit is to be lifeless and dull.

I'm talking to you, Batman Begins.

I thought Batman Begins was great!
