I'm seeing links to bootleg downloads for the upcoming release of Star Wars.

DO NOT POST SUCH LINKS!

The original theatrical cuts are unavailable on DVD in an official release, so I turn a blind eye to those. Not everyone can have a laserdisc player and the original LDs.

However, the upcoming 2004 cuts will be available for you to purchase if you want them. Whether you agree with the changes or not, PAY FOR THE DAMN BOX SET if you want to watch it.

I understand many of you would like to see just how much has changed from the originals; I have the same desire. This site can't afford to defend that position. If we're associated with distributing bootlegs, or even allowing them to be provided via our forums, we could get into serious trouble.

It's not hard to find such things on the internet. Just don't post them here.

I don't have a problem with not allowing bootlegs, but how about leaked pictures/sound clips? Are those still allowed or not?

Not that I'm planning on getting any, but I do know there has been some talk of them...what about bootlegs of the 1997 Special Editions? They are clearly not what's going to be released next month, and thus are about as extinct as the originals.

Personally, I think that ANY bootleg talk is going to be negative against this cause. I feel it should all be removed and all that energy should be put into strengthening the main purpose here!

Lucasfilm are apparently going to make an announcement on September 8th about all the changes and stuff (or something like that, I don't remember all the details).

Can you provide a link. Strange since both The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones were reviewed more then a month before there DVD release.

I don't have an actual link. This is all based on what I've read over at the starwars.com forums. Lots of people over there are talking about Lucasfilm making an announcement on September 8th about the DVD changes.

I know it won't happen, but wouldn't it be great if he made his annoucement aboutthe changes in front of a live audience. And after everytime he annouced one of his changes, he got booed and eventually got booed off the stage. I would love to see him make his annoucement in front of real Star Wars fans.

and in referring to lucas getting booed, it will happen in front of STAR WARS fans but not lucas butt kissers. See Lucas' money has created a social bubble for him. He has alot of yes people around him who will please him for the almighty dollar. No one over there will say no to him, it would burst the bubble.

No such announcement will happen. My guess it that the DVDs will be reviewed later next week. Considering that Attack of the Clones was review on October 8 and The Phantom Menace on September 11 (Which I would have cared more about if not for more important things that happened that day)
