though esb has its cliches, i believe it is the best out of the original star wars trilogy and completely surpasses the horrible dialogue in the PT. lets be thankful for the time that star wars was made.
And the red one, come on. Well, come on, Red, let's go!

Just pointing out that the Originals have some bad lines too, that's all.

aotc has got to have some of the most cringeworthy lines I have ever heard in any movie. Most of them are from ewan mcgregor

The PT feels like it's telling 20 minutes of story in 5.

Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabris, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam.

Actually, I'd say it's the other way around. One thing that has really distinguished the PT from the OT is the pacing; the OT moves like gangbusters, while the PT has to hammer you over the head 7 or 8 times with every 'significant' plot point.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I agree, and the difference is caused by the fact that Lucas doesn't trust us to follow a storyline anymore; he thinks we're all five years old.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side

Emperor Jar-Jar
“Back when we made Star Wars, we just couldn’t make Palpatine as evil as we intended. Now, thanks to the miracles of technology, it is finally possible. Finally, I’ve created the movies that I originally imagined.” -George Lucas on the 2007 Extra Extra Special HD-DVD Edition

If Lucas were to remake the OT, then every few mintues someone would mourn the death of the Old Republic or bring up the rebels' sparse supplies.

"It is your DESTINY" is a crappy line?

Maybe, but look at the logic of the timeline in Empire.
While Han and the gang dodge and run from the Empire, Luke does most of his Jedi Training. (Shoulda done a montage!)

A montage? Like in the Rocky movies? I doubt it would be nice seeing Luke running around, doing push-ups, lifting weights, using the force, with an early 80s pop-rock on the soundtrack. Unless Yoda was played by Mr. T: "The fool, pity him do I!"

Nice username by the way.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
