Not that I'd be radically opposed to seeing Monkey Eye with Stoklasa' perfect McDiarmid impression or anything (although the "cleaner" voice there matches the "cleaner" face better than McDiarmid's "dirty" voice matches his decrepit appearence), but in the end, you'd still have a monkey-eyed Emperor that looks nothing than "the" Emperor, with only half of the illusion provided.

I dunno man... I've got nothing against this or anything, but this just accentuates the inherent pointlessness of all these "fan edits" - they can do only so much to the "problems" they're out to solve.

But I got the point :)

Adywan's version is the original lines but performed by McDiamid with a hologram based on his look from Jedi.

That's how it should be.

Which proves that fan edits can work and are not necessarily pointless.

Finally there is a special edition of the scene which ties in with the other episodes but has the original dialogue.

Has anyone found a version of the RotS review that I can download?  I usually put his reviews on my [mobile mp3/video device] since I don't want to spend the time sitting in front of my laptop... but blip.tv doesn't have a download option or apparently work with jdownloader or keepvid.  RLM used to offer DVD versions of his reviews on his site... or did I make that up?

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

I don't know about that but the first two SW reviews and his Star Trek reviews are available at fanedit.info (that's how I got them).  boon made them, but no word so far if he plans on doing a DVD of the ROTS review.

Yes, you're right.  That's where I got the DVD versions of the other reviews.

I love the plinkett reviews. Although there are some little things I don't agree with here an there he proves to be a very rigorous and unpretentious critic who who prefers to draw conclusions from hard facts rather imposing unjustified opinions to the audience, like a lot of film critics tend to do. Hell, I would gladly buy the whole thing if it was ever released on dvd. I feel I could watch these over and over.

Ignorant of many things, but still a real bro.

If you download the latest RealPlayer (free version), you'll get a nifty  'Download This Video' button that will appear automatically when you play a video in your browser.

It works great, and obviously you don't have to use the included media player.

Did anyone else have a nerdrage moment when he said the 'Falcon wasn't in ROTS? Or was that just me? Or was this already discussed and I'm just tardy to the party?

When he said it wasn't, I believe I yelled at the computer monitor something to the effect of "YES IT WAS IDIOT!"

For me, it was more of a, "Wait... hmm, it's been a long while since I watched this movie, but I could have sworn the Falcon was an easter egg in it."

There is no lingerie in space…

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I sort of had, but in my case, it was more of the "alright, now he's gonna make a dismissive joke about that hardly visible easter egg in the corner of the screen, one Lucas himself declared as canon, and "really the actual Falcon that happened to be there at the same day"... wait, now it's coming... now.. the segment's not over yet, now he's gonna... come on.. OOHHHHHH" sort.

Then after a few seconds, I realized "he didn't even bother with that", and suddenly, it was awesome.

I mean, come on dude, R2 was floating around in space in Abram's Trek movie. Does that shit matter? The Falcon wasn't in the film, it's coolness wasn't ruined in any way that could've been possible. Just some tiny image floating around in the corner of the screen for a couple seconds...

It's like if Lucas' son had been dressed as Han Solo and put somewhere into the opera house for a few hardly visible seconds, it essentially wouldn't have mattered.

For what it's worth, they confirmed in their forums that they knew about the easter egg, but that wasn't what their point was about, and they didn't bother bringing that up ;)

He and his daughter were dressed as blue aliens outside the opera house and it was blatantly obvious.  Ugh.

I didn't know the Falcon was in ROTS. I now feel dumb for having googled it. I did know there's a Millennium Falcon type ship in AOTC. Has the Falcon become 1138 now? Sheesh.

I know that, but I think the only time I actually noticed them was when I was watching the commentaries and they pointed out those cameos.

Kinda like the ETs in the senate, you notice them if you notice them (or get told about it), but there ARE no "ETs" in the senate. ;)

Honestly, the Peter Jackson cameos in LOTR were more obvious...

Ben Burtt and some other guy show up at the end of TPM, in that scene where Palpatine congratulates Padme... Anthony Daniels is in the Clones bar... that shit's funny :D

I noticed the ETs in the theater and hated it immediately.  And not only is Anthony Daniels in the Clones bar, but so is Jar Jar the dude who played Jar Jar.

Pisses me off.

With all the problems inherent to the PT, these cameos don't really bother me.

I must admit though, I'm a little worried about someone trying to connect Star Wars and Indiana Jones via the Crystal Skull aliens.

Which really should be Mr. Plinkett's next target, by the way.  The storyline to that movie was totally incoherent.

Oh, screw you, Lucas.  Those are ETs and you know it.

What is with that guy?

EDIT: Just read the end of the article and now I get it.  Still...actually, Spielberg backwards is even dumber.  Screw you, Lucas.

Oh... my fucking God :D

Like, those random prop monsters from the Cantina all have their biographies and planet histories, too ;)

Does the EU also say how many tentacle dudes that one hooker chick in the Clones nightclub humped? Is that canon, too? LOL

This would be so incredibly stupid, if it weren't kinda tongue-in-cheek ;)

Um, so each of those prop monsters from the Cantina has their backstory, right? Probably also a political chronology from their respective homeplanets, too...

What I'd really like to know now, does the EU also... expand upon how many weirdos with tentacles that one hooker chick from Clones humped? Like, is that canon? LOL

Honestly, this shit would be so incredibly, incomprehensible stupid, if it weren't kinda tongue-in-cheek ;)

Because seriously... Confused Matthew's reviews, while fun, kinda do suck...

I was a little disappointed with RedLetterMedia's coverage of ROTS. He did a good job but he generalized too many things that I was hoping he would elaborate on like he did in episodes II and I. I was dying waiting to see what he would say about Darth Vader saying Noooooooo!!!! But he just jumps right past it with no comment at all. Maybe he felt like there was enough comments on that already. I think he does speak to the audience that keeps up on the prequel hating discussion and tries to add things that he feels hasn't been discussed heavily yet.

It's nice to see the different styles of reviewing people do of these movies on the internet. RedLetterMedia likes to goof around and be kind of silly and talk about the movie more than review it. Confused Matthew likes to review movies in a more formal manner, and Chefelf likes to review things from beginning to end and make jokes about each moment he didn't like.

I liked the comparison of Citizen Cane, I was thinking he was going to use the Godfather to compare how to do a convincing movie about a good man falling from grace compared to ROTS, but Citizen Cane is probably a better choice to do the comparison with.

Interesting you mention that because I finally checked his site out yesterday after hearing so much about it.  I tried watching his 2001 video, but the first two parts I viewed was basically him just shouting "This is boring!" over and over and muted video footage.  I admit I didn't finish it, but from what I saw, he seemed unable to examine the movie in a historical context.
