Red Letter Media's Indy 4 review

Yeah, I already saw it. To me, it wasn't as funny as the prequel reviews, but it still made me laugh.

The schtick was a bit tired and criticism wasn't as sharp as for the prequels, but still it was entertaining.

It was a good breakdown of that horrible film. I still enjoy his potshots at Lucas at every opportunity.

If he had guts he would employ the same degree of analysis to Jedi and the other Raiders sequels.

If Lucas really wanted to do special editions why not get someone to  look at the dodgy effects work in TOD or TLC (only heavens please let Spielberg and Paramount insist on treating them the same way as his ET special edition).

On second thoughts lets hope Ady or someone of his elk* give them and KOTC a go.

I found it to be a boring review.  Certainly not up to the standard set by the prequels.

But that Olsen Twins joke left me struggling to breathe.

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Yeah, it was pretty boring. There were a few very funny moments but overall it was nowhere near as good as the prequel vids. And it was also much more of a rant, rather than a true indepth analysis put in a funny way.

Don't feel the need to watch this, especially since his voice made it impossible for me to listen to his PT reviews.

It's difficult to keep up with the PT reviews because what's wrong with KOTCS is pretty simple and despite what he underplays is pretty much what's unsatisfying about all the Raiders sequels and that prequel that most people think is a sequel.

The PT is screwed up on so many levels it requires a lot longer to pull it to pieces.

He makes a sensible point about wanting to be Indy and some people don't want to be reminded of getting old.

But surely the way to go would to have made Indy the cooliest older guy on the planet and leave the audience thinking "I want to be like him when I get to his age".

Most people first encountered the character when they were kids so already they were projecting onto the character future (if unrealistic) aspirations.

I disagree about the politics thing though, the Nazis were villains because they were Nazis not because they were Germans.

The villains could have been whoever would want to misuse the power of the skull, so you could have had good and bad Americans and Russians without muddying the waters.

Nobody thought the Thugee were evil because they were Indians.

This, but also I think his points were fairly weak at some parts.

For every really good point (like the effects of off-screen or small-in-frame violence) he did something dumb like dwell on how he didn't like the delivery of one line ("Part time.")

I thought the "part time" thing was one of the best things in the whole review actually, so right!

Really? I never noticed anything weird about it. Even hearing it back and forth between the two versions I don't know why one is somehow 'wrong.'

Even given that much of film review is bound to be subjective, I just don't get it.

I thought this review was pretty decent.  I'd like to recommend it to a few people, but then I remember some of the "antics".  Like the Olsten twin "joke".

Someone ought to edit these down so that "regular" folk can watch them.

Or am I wrong?

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Rewrite the Prequels!

What are you waiting for?  Didn't you used to do that (or still do it?) with regular movies on occasion?
