No one ever is ;)
No one ever is ;)
This is probably the first time ever that I've seen a rating scale from 1 to 8.
But here goes, replete with detailed reviews:
SW - 8/8 epic
ESB - 7/8 intense
ROTJ - 7/8 fun
TPM - 4/8 watchable
AOTC - 2/8 hilarious
ROTS - 1/8 crapfest

So I may be nuts, but I'm not the only one.
You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not. John Lennon. Great songwriter.
Yeah... those are very odd ducks you've quoted there.
Even IMDB is nuts:
RotJ:
Users: 8.3/10 (243,650 votes) 507 reviews | Critics: 120 reviews
Metascore: 52/100
TPM:
Users: 6.4/10 (216,356 votes) 3,347 reviews | Critics: 231 reviews
Metascore: 52/100
My only guess is that they weren't using the same scale when they rated these. Or they, like some of you, are certfiable.

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005
"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM
"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.
I wouldn't say I am "certfiable." However, I am slightly "squart."
JFDtT?

I can't remember what that means. Something Something Death thru Typo, I think.

I went with the 8 point system because I think a lot of other ratings systems have redundant levels (like an 8/10 for great and a 9/10 for excellent). I feel that calling a film "great" or "excellent" or "outstanding" is basically saying the the same thing. I suppose I could have had a 0 for a film with no redeeming features. On the other hand the 4-star rating system seems too basic.

This is what happens when you ignore the ball rating system. Everything falls apart.

Perhaps. I miss your old avatar.
“It is only through interaction, through decision and choice, through confrontation, physical or mental, that the Force can grow within you.”
-Kreia, Jedi Master and Sith Lord
Which one?

The one immediately prior to the avatar you are currently using.

I don't remember which one that was.
The Phantom Menace - 4
Attack of the Clones - 5
Revenge of the Sith - 6
A New Hope - 8
The Empire Strikes Back - 8
Return of the Jedi - 6

ANH 10/10
ESB 9/10
ROTJ 7/10
TPM 6/10
ATOC 3/10
ROTS 5/10
It is really to tough to rate ANH and ESB. ESB is my favorite movie of the series and I think its plot, production values, directing, acting, effects etc. are all better, but ANH had a much higher impact on me, so I rate it higher.
I also like TPM for the most part. It has many flaws, but to me is about the level of ROTJ.
I find it hard to use numbers but this how I'd rank them from best to worst:
Empire
A New Hope
Jedi
Sith
Menace
Ewok films
Clones
Holiday Special
The Turkish Star Wars beats all of them though in the sense that it's the worst and best SW at the same time.
Star Wars 9
Empire 9.5
Jedi 6.5 only the oot versions.
Prequels are - 10 each.
“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.
Thanks for clearing that up for us. I had no idea you hated them! :P
Skyjedi, you beat around the bush so much. Tell us how you really feel about George Lucas and the prequels.
SW- 10 balls out of 10
ESB- 10 balls
ROTJ- 9 balls
TPM- 6 balls
AOTC- 2 balls
ROTS- 7 balls.
