Many will disagree about ranking AOTC over TPM. But AOTC actually contained some stuff that were the reasons I wanted to see the prequels, like a big ass Jedi/Clone battle. Where as even though TPM is a much better made movie overall (Still sh*t though) it has Jar Jar (and to a lesser extent little Annie) in it for most of the running time. He’s the most irritating character in the history of mainstream movies and it’s difficult to “enjoy” anything else about that movie as a result. If a highly skilled faneditor/FX-artist ever digitally erased Jar Jar from every single pixel of TPM, then sure I’d probablly rank it as the “least worst” prequel. But so far (To my knowledge) they haven’t yet, so it’ll stay bottom for me.

At least AOTC has Kenobi in it for more than 5 minutes and he does things that significantly effect the plot. At least the villain has more than 4 lines (With Christopher Lee’s voice) and does things that significantly effect the plot. The final LS duel actually has some emotion behind it, despite also being almost totally cr*p. At least they got rid of the botched puppet Yoda. Sadly with a CGI Yoda but you can tell the FX-artists really tried.

What do you seek to accomplish with this?

If it was a bait, you got hooked. If he simply didn’t watch TFA yet, you were being dumb. If it was an honest opinion, you were being an intolerant jerk.

Your feeble attempt at trying to elicit an emotional response was ineffectual. If it is an honest opinion I don’t understand it. If that makes me intolerant then oh well. Sue me.

That sounds like a you problem.

The others were good examples but the CGI in this shot is shite m8

no it’s really not

You probably just dislike CGI in general.

LOL. Genuinely forgot to include TFA. Let’s try that again…

  1. ROTJ
  2. ESB
  3. SW
  4. TFA
  5. ROTS
  6. AOTC
  7. TPM

TFA sits between the two trilogies but is extremely close below SW and lightyears above ROTS.

I’m saying that Ryan is probably not trolling.

Well I’m saying he probably is. You going to cry about it or something?

Love the attitude and to echo swagmasta69 above… having a different opinion isn’t trolling. Knowing that my ranking of AOTC was different to the norm, I explained my thoughts on that in the original post above and my longstanding love of ROTJ has it’s own thread 😉

Ryan is not trolling, he’s explained his ranking and he has a ton of history (including being an admin at FE) that speaks to his credibility. Even if I disagree on his relative placement of ROTJ and AOTC. 😉

Mr. 69 appears to be either a kid or a TF.n troll, I can’t tell which. Maybe both?

What part of ‘post post ironic critique of modern youngsters’ do you not understand?

I’m not a troll, I just don’t post on any other forums.
I used to frequent 4chan, but it’s become overrun by low quality posters (yes, yes, pot calling the kettle black).

In fairness, you could say that about any Star Wars movie (besides the original). The Force theme is the most memorable theme in cinematic history.

But TFA didn’t have an Imperial March or Duel of The Fates or Across The Stars to balance it out, which made it seem like the Force Theme was overused.

You got me on the Imperial March, no argument there, all time classic.

Across the Stars is undeniably a fantastic piece of music and one of Williams best, though I would agree Rey’s theme is in the same stratosphere.

Duel of the Fates is a fine cue, very catchy, but not very interesting as a recurring theme (shows up only at the end of TPM, a couple more times in AOTC and ROTS but with no variation or development).

Even if it seemed like it to you, the Force theme was certainly not overused in TFA. In fact, if I had to guess, of all the films in the saga TFA might be the one with the least amount of Force theme statements.

I know it wasn’t. I was saying that it seemed like it because of the lack of a comparable theme.
One huge fumble was at the end fight when Rey closed her eyes and the force theme started. It should have been a triumphant statement of Rey’s theme.

Duel of the Fates playing over a long shot of Anakin talking to a Jawa is one of the lower points of the entire PT.
