I think all the Nolan Batman films are overrated.

I think they’re all better than pretty much any superhero movie ever made.

Yeah but superhero movies pretty much suck.
I love the two Burton Batman movies but those aren’t superhero movies.

Yeah, I like those also. Other than that I disliked almost every superhero movie I’ve seen other than Guardians of the Galaxy, which was pretty funny. I didn’t really consider that a superhero movie either.
The Person in Question
Agreed on both counts regarding GoG. The only true superhero movie I enjoyed was the first Avengers.
JEDIT: Superman II was solid.
I never counted those early superhero movies. I also liked the 1960s Batman. They were closer to action, adventure-comedies than anything else. Now Superheroes are their own genre, and I didn’t care for the first Avengers.
The Person in Question
Having recently seen TDK and TDKR, I find them to be very overrated. The main thing that irks me is all the talking and exposition. I feel like Christopher Nolan takes the audience for idiots so he as to spell out everything just to make sure it’s shoved down our throats whatever message he’s trying to give.
Also, it tries to balance between realism and fantasy and it often falters. For all the talk about a ‘realistic’ Batman movie the fans talk about, the plot hinges on microwave bombs, planes without wings and radar vision from hacked cell phones. And don’t get me started on that moment when Batman jumps out of a window, grabs Maggie Gyllenhaal and they land on a car with hardly a scratch…
They’re not terrible films, but I don’t understand how fans will point out all the minute plot issues with BvS and give these films a pass.
People get on BvS because it nearly got everything wrong. From how the characters are portrayed to what a miscast Eisenberg was to how stupid Lex’s plan was which hinged on using Doomsday too early (which is a great story they should have saved for later) etc. The only really good thing about the film was Ben Affleck becoming the closest thing to a faithful film adaptation of Batman (with the exception to the whole killing thing) and Gal Gadot. While some will say TDK trilogy is overrated they are at least decently made films whereas BvS is a mess.
EDIT:
I didn’t care for the first Avengers.
Why? It’s a pretty fun movie
It was too long. I guess now that I think about it I did like the first Iron Man.
The Person in Question
I still don’t know why some think TDKR is a bad film. It was disappointing for sure but it was pretty well made.
I thought it was as good as the Dark Knight.
EDIT: But then again I don’t view the Dark Knight as the holy grail that some people do either.
Agreed.
EDIT: Also agreed.
Not enough people read the EU.

Oh, I forgot about that one. I liked most of it but the end was awful.

I agree entirely! Though it’s the worst of the trilogy IMO I still think it’s a very good movie.
Have you seen the “Dark Knight Saga Recut, The - Part III” fanedit? It makes the film so much better. That fan edit is better than the theatrical version and Batman Begins in my opinion.

For me it’s on par with Batman Begins but nowhere near The Dark Knight just like Return of The Jedi is nowhere near The Empire Strikes Back or how The Last Crusade is nowhere near Raiders of The Lost Arc.
I prefer Last Crusade to Lost Ark. Sue me

A man is on his way to serve you papers.
A top man.
Nolan’s Batman films didn’t really feel like Batman to me.
Iron Man is one of my favorite movies, but I agree that the ending is weak. It annoys me how they go around killing off a lot of potentially great villains at the end of each solo movie and then just have the massive faceless army in the Avengers movies.
Keep Circulating the Tapes.

I don’t remember the ending, or anything else about the movie in general for that matter.

I don’t give half a shit about minute plot issues in the Nolan films or BvS. And I don’t need to. BvS has much bigger problems. It’s a fucking disgrace that that “movie” is a part of the same franchise as the TDK trilogy. Maybe even moreso than Batman and Robin.
Thankfully Affleck will be behind the next solo Bat flick so the character won’t be in the shitter for too long.
My problems with Man of Steel (didn’t see BvS) had nothing to do with minute plot issues. It really didn’t even have to do with plot issues; I just couldn’t stand it because it was loud, long, and obnoxious.

You mean grand, operatic and epic right?
No, not at all, but I realize that to a different person that could easily describe the Christopher Nolan Batman movies.
