What the heck is a tad boy?
Probably an 18 year old male human. Mostly a man, but just a tad bit of a boy still.
A male tadpole.

I’ve been trying to change my avatar, but no matter what I do it remains John Wick on my screen. The avatar system is pretty wonky in general, I don’t like that I have to refresh to see peoples’ updated avatars, that should be done automatically. Is this just a problem on my end, or is this something with the software?
Turns out I have to clear my image cache in Google Chrome in order for new avatars to show up. Now I have to do it for everyone that changes their avatar, otherwise it doesn’t show up. Kinda lame, but at least it’s fixed.

Yep. My brother is wanting to join up to pay for college (and because it’s something he’s wanted to do since forever) and it makes this one much more poignant for me.

Martin Van Drunen is a fucking beast.
I wouldn’t know.
You’ve never listened to Pestilence, Asphyx or any of the other bands he’s been in? I would be pretty surprised if you haven’t listened to Consuming Impulse. That’s a Death Metal essential.
Hey, here’s a They Might Be Giants song for you about Martin Van Buren (well, almost).

I’ve heard pestilence and asphyx but never took an interest in them.

This is fun. I’d almost forgotten about some toys from my childhood, “Food Fighters” “Bone Age,” and “Computer Warriors.” Oh man, I had the calculator that turned into a tank and the circuit board that was a small plane.

I love that band!

I feel you. It took me a couple of listens to get into Pestilence. Same goes for Immolation
Legion of the Damned did a very good cover of a Pestilence song though. I think they even got pestilence vocalist to come in and do vocals for it.
There are a few smaller death metal bands I like but I’m not a huge straight-death metal fan. And when I’m in the mood for some traditional death metal I usually go for the bigger names because they have a certain"spark" that makes their sound pop to me and most smaller acts bore me. I like Morbid Angel, Deicide, Sinister, the first couple vital remains records, and a few others. I’m much more into melodic death metal. (Kalmah, Insomnium, Children of Bodom, Sateriel, Stuff like that).
I also love black metal as long as the production isn’t shit (a few exceptions to this) and the lyrics/imagery aren’t too cheesy or over the top. Older Mayhem, Antestor, Emperor, Svartsyn, Setheriel, Crimson Moonlight, Behexen.

Pestilence is definitely one of the bigger names. I dare say they’re more popular than Deicide…Well maybe not but Consuming Impulse is definitely more popular and held in a higher regard than anything Deicide has ever done. The only Sinister song I have ever heard was their Necrophiliac Cover.

Funny thing is that I like melodic riffs but not Melodeath. I prefer Doom Metal in terms of an Extreme Metal Genre that is based on melodic riffing. Candlemass and Sabbath (if you count them) of course being my favorites.

Honestly I don’t listen to too much Black Metal these days. Darkthrone is all I really listen to in terms of Black Metal.
Listen to the song Sadistic Intent by sinister I think you’ll enjoy it. And as for the legion of the famed pestilence cover the song is Chronic infection I prefer it offer original and it has original vocalist.

Going to look it up in a sec

I wish Martin had taken lead on the vocals because somehow he still has it. Where people like Tom Araya, Mille Petrozza, David Vincent, Tom Angelripper and Ross Dolan have fallen off Martin has still retained a decent amount of his vocal prowess.
As for the cover it’s pretty damn good but the only thing I can give it over the original is the production.
I just think the increased speed suits it.
And about Deicide: I actually don’t really like them on the whole as a band, it’s just that Legion is such a good album I have to mention them.

The only time it’s noticeable is at the end and it does work rather nicely. Not a fan of the generic modern Death Metal guitar tone though.
And don’t let my bitching fool you; I like the cover. I’m just extra nitpicky because I deem the original to be almost perfect.

I feel the same way as there are only a few songs from them that I really fuck with. They’re like Cannibal Corpse in the fact that they’re big because of brutality rather than good song writing.
Take to a shitty thread I can ignore.
