I don't think I could be losing water weight now.  205 is different for me than it is for you because I'm over 6 feet tall.

Sure, rub it in. X-|

I think you posted a video of yourself once though and I didn't think you looked overweight.

Believe me, I am, I'm built like a cartoon character.

They tell me I move like one, too.

But seriously, I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but if the weight loss is worrying you, talk to your doctor. You'll feel relieved when he tells you you're fine.

I would say I'm overweight. My church was taking free pictures for mothers day. I had one taken, and my immediate reaction was to scream and say "burn it! burn it with fire!"

...needless to say, I didn't look that good in the picture, and I could really use some weightloss...nes...

Much of your weight loss is likely in water, but it is also certainly real weight.  The question is which is which.  You should always weigh yourself at the same time each day for an accurate picture.  Typically 2-3 lbs/week is okay, and more is generally not good.  It's not just fat, but muscle breakdown, dehydration, etc.  It's generally not good to lose too much too fast, and there are complications that could result, including kidney failure (see rhabdomyolosis).  This happened to a patient of mine a few months back...just too much exercise, not enough water, and a young healthy guy ends up with kidney failure, though it was fortunately reversed in his case.  It is best to keep yourself hydrated, limit calories, and exercise a reasonable amount.  Don't overdo it.  I actually was looking at this page the other day, and it is useful.  Check it out.

I was just reading some posts I made soon after I joined the forum. I was very similar to me back then, but the way I write appears to have changed a fair bit. I wonder how much it and I will change in the next couple of years.

Based on the trend that my writing has taken so far, I fully expect to be writing like Post Praetorian by the time I'm twenty.... :P

I weigh myself the same time daily.  And I don't know if I was quite clear enough about this, but I'm not starting out on losing weight, which is why I was skeptical about it being water weight.  I lost about 15-20 pounds at about 3 to 4 pounds a week.  The concern is for the last week or so it's been 1-2 pounds a DAY.  I do drink a ton of water.  Here's my typical day, beverage wise, and I mean a work day not a crazy fun day:

3-4 bottles of water

5-6 beers

2-3 glasses red wine

1-2 shots of brandy

1 glass of cranberry-grape juice with 2 shots of gin mixed in (it's WAY better than it sounds... it's amazing actually)

Actually with all that alcohol it's amazing I'm able to lose weight at all now that I think about it, maybe it's affecting my appetite and I'm not realizing it.  I actually feel pretty great these days, it's just the 1-2 pounds a day thing that worries me.

I find it immensely satisfying to know that Lorenzo Music did the voice for Garfield in the cartoon as well as Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters, while Bill Murray played Garfield and Peter Venkman in the live action versions of both characters.

Missed the best part of this: Music lost the job on Real Ghostbusters because Bill Murray once off-handedly complained that he sounded nothing like him.

and they got Dave Coulier, who sounded absolutely nothing like him.

Wouldn't they have to pay the original actor's if the cartoon voices were too close to theirs anyway? The animators obviously don't draw the Ghostbusters to look like Murray, Ackroyd, Ramis, or Hudson for similar reasons.

Where were you in '77?

I don't see why. Yes, likenesses are (sometimes) protected, but voices ain't.

I've heard too many cartoon characters that sound (purposefully) like famous actors to make me think otherwise.

here's 10 examples

http://geektyrant.com/news/10-cartoon-voices-that-are-actually-impressions-of-other-actors-ergt

(not the greatest article, there's many imprecisions and it failed to mention most Hanna-Barbera characters, like Top Cat which was basically Sergeant Bilko)

Even when told not to do an impression, they do it anyway, case in point Mel Blanc after his car accident, his Barney Rubble changed from a generic "dumb guy voice" to a loose Art Carney impression.

And to bring it back to Ghostbusters, Maurice Lamarche was asked not to do an impression of Harold Ramis but he did it anyway.

By the way, apparently the show runners misinterpreted Bill Murray's comment: apparently he was just amused by the fact that Egon was the only one that sounded similar to his real life counterpart. The comment was interpreted as "doesn't sound like me" and Music was fired.

He was fired because he mislead them with his last name.  Duh.

here's some HB characters whose voices are basically impressions:

  1. Yogi Bear = Art Carney
  2. Jabberjaw = Curly Howard (and a pinch of Rodney Dangerfield)
  3. Wally Gator = Ed Wynn
  4. Snagglepuss = Bert Lahr

although apparently, as the last case seems to imply, even if voices aren't copyrighted, their unauthorized use might potentially lead to problems:

Wiki sez:

When the character of Snagglepuss was used for a series of Kellogg'scerealtelevision commercials in the 1960s, Lahr filed a lawsuit, claiming that the similarity of the Snagglepuss voice to his own might cause viewers to falsely conclude that Lahr was endorsing the product. As part of the settlement, the disclaimer "Snagglepuss voice by Daws Butler" was required to appear on each commercial, thus making Butler one of the few voice artists to receive a screen credit in a TV commercial.

oh, yeah, I forgot: Warner Bros characters which were "ripoffs" of (well, more inspired by) previous characters

  1. Pete Puma = Frank Fontaine's "Crazy Gugghenheim", which was later re-used by Dan Castellaneta in the Simpsons as the basis for Barney Gumble
  2. Foghorn Leghorn = Kenny Delmar's "Senator Claghorn"

His last name is Music.  He's not a composer or a musician.  It's not complicated.

Alcohol is a diuretic and makes you pee. Thus you still are likely losing more water than you take in.

Alcohol also slows down your metabolism by distracting it from processing your food because it processes the alcohol first (very loose explanation, but it will do because I'm sure you know what I'm talking about anyway).  As I said, I had already lost 10-15 pounds at a normal rate BEFORE the rapid loss started, I always understood that "water weight loss" happened first before fat.  And I do look thinner, I've received several compliments (as well as concerned comments, as like I said I didn't *really* need to lose any weight I'm just being superficial, and some people are concerned I might be once again going down the same anorexic path of my youth)

He didn't have to be either. He was living music, a series of A-sharps and B-flats made flesh.

That's fine.  I'm just responding to your concern as best as I can understand that perhaps you are losing weight too fast.  Just be careful.  I don't want any harm to come to you. :)

My desired weight is 165. I was that thin for a brief period of time, I probably wasn't eating much. I think I remember seeing my cheekbones!
