Ender, I'm surprised at you! Using the "P" word? Tsk, tsk. ;-P

If I were a mermaid, that'd be pretty mucked up for a multitude of reasons.  Wouldn't you agree?

...what do mermaids have to do with wookie roars?

The same thing wookie roars have to do with darth_ender being pissed!

SIDEBAR FOR DARTH_ENDER: I'm currently reading "Xenocide".  :P  (And yes I have read the two the preceded it.  Ender's Game is a classic, but Speaker for the Dead was amazing.  A bit pretentious in writing style at times, but the story was extremely captivating)

^Hey!  I'm glad to actually see a post I like in Off Topic!  I feel Xenocide and Children of the Mind were a bit of a downhill slope for the series, but still, the whole tale of Ender is an enjoyable ride for me, and I'm glad you're enjoying it as well :)

I'm only just beginning Xenocide.  Speaker for the Dead was amazing though.  I just have a worry that Xenocide will become overly convoluted.

I feel really stupid today.

I have been watching the Bond movies since I was 13 or 14 years old, and know them backwards and forwards but I only just now out the joke that in Live and let Die, the movie that Paul McCarthy did the theme song for there is a character named SGT. Pepper.

I can't believe I missed that all these years.  I feel really stupid right now.

In the Live and Let die he is not too bad since he was just there for a few minutes to make fun of southern stereotypes and he does have one great line "Secret Agent, On who's side?", given the amount of destruction that the average action hero causes I am surprised this question isn't asked in more movies.

Still there is no reason for him to be in The Man with the Golden Gun, and he ruins what would have been a pretty good car chase in that movie.  I did want to kill him in that film.

I guess you are right, for some reason I always remember his name as Sargent Pepper.  Maybe it is because I listened to so much Dragnet as a kid so whenever I think of law enforcement I always think of the rank of Sargent.

It's interesting that they didn't sneak in some sort of Beatles reference. They had the McCartney song by the time the Filet O' Soul restaurant in New Orleans scene was shot.

Where were you in '77?

I seem to remember Post Praetorian once said he was a big fan of Orson Scott Card's work... it has a certain name-brand value for him, let's say.

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

I just woke up from the strangest dream I have ever had.

I dreamed that Frank Miller had framed another comic book writer for his murder as an "April fools day joke" and when charges were pressed I was forced to hear every detail of the case because I was selected for Jury duty and then the defense used All Star Batman and Robin as proof that Miller was insane and shouldn't go to prison.

I swear this all happened in my dream.

My brain scares me some times.

Sounds like a reasonable argument.

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

Not as weird as the dream I had a few days ago where I ate a heart-shaped chocolate laced with LSD and suffered a bad acid trip. I mean, really -- experiencing hallucinations in a dream? Talk about totally redundant.

I've had dreams about doing a lot of different drugs and feeling the effects of it in the dream actually.  I remember the dream I snorted coke and smoked meth... needless to say I didn't stay asleep for very long.

And no I'm not making that up.

In between the ages of 6 and 12, I used to have recurring nightmares about what I called the "roar-ega monster". The dream could be about anything, but it always ended the same way. Out of nowhere a demonic creature (who's favorite form is Rex from Toy Story, but can look like whatever it wants.) would come up to me, say "ROAR-EGA" and something horrible would happen to me (Grabbed by a giant green hand, having an earache due to a loud noise, some sort of pain going through my body.) Many of those experiences could be considered "Lucid Nightmares". I knew that the dream was about to end, I knew the monster was coming, I knew I was in great danger. Infrequently I found myself able to summon the monster by saying it's name, although why I thought that was a good idea was far beyond me. Sometimes I was able to defeat the monster and wake up almost immediately afterwards, usually by closing it's mouth before it could say anything.

Other nightmares I had were one-offs. In one nightmare I had when I was 6, I was in my bed. I saw my mother on the floor, kneeling. It looked like she was praying. I got off my bed and went into a praying position myself. Suddenly white, disembodied hands grabbed me and placed me back in my bed, while some distorted angelic choir played as music. A similar dream from close to the same age showed me sleeping in my moms beds, with her nowhere to be seen. On a piece of furnature I saw a sign with the word "sale" on it. I half expected a cartoon character from my youth to appear and say "Sale? Hmm." Instead, I get grabbed by a metal claw. It softly but jerkfully shakes me while making this noise "Wa wa wa wa wa wa wa wa. Wa wa wa wa wa wa wa wa....." I woke up in my own bed not long after.

In a nightmare I had at 12 or 13, I was in a room at my house. I noticed a Sonic the Hedgehog doll that I didn't have in real life, and picked it up. A demon came out of it, saying the Sonic was evil, and as punishment for playing his games he would "put a big chunk in my head." He then goes into me, and I wake up. The claw and Sonic dreams both happened at the end.

I had some pretty disturbing nightmares when I was younger, though thankfully they don't come nearly as frequently. The most recent one I has was a jump scare, which gave me a shock. Yes, it happened at the end, surprised?
