Before watching Gargoyles, I didn't think Marina Sirtis was capable of playing a compelling character or giving a stellar performance. I certainly was proved wrong (and I couldn't be happier that I was).

I'm so very glad that all the various Highlander films and TV shows exist within their own seperate continuities. I'd die inside if everything were forced to co-exist in some internally inconsistent Frankenstein's monster universe ala the EU.

Batman used to be my #1 favourite superhero. Thanks to the fanboys and hack writers who think he's a psychotic ninja who can beat everyone including God with enough prep time, he's been reduced to #3.

Same here.  I think it was Frank Miller who ruined him for me with All Star Batman and Robin.  Now we are getting a whole movie where he is going to beat the snot out of Superman just because he is more popular right now?  Not interested.

The same thing happened with Wolverine with the Xmen.  I used to like him but since he took over the "team" and every story is now about him and how awesome he is he has become boring and I have lost interest in him.

Hopefully more and more people will start to feel this way about these characters and this fad will burn it's self out soon.

Today I went to Mass in a different language for the first time. I never thought of it before, but the nice thing about the liturgy, not that most people here care, is that a person can follow along in any language, since it's the same wherever you go (as long as it's the same rite, which most Catholic churches are).

I doubt he'll be able to do much with Hayden, due to the accent.

What are you talking about, Frink watches them because he's a fan.

That's a pretty mild accent compared to some other stuff Hayden's done. I'm betting he gets hurt early on, and is nursed back to health by sex starved nuns again. ;)

My long pre-ordered 18-film Werner Herzog Blu-Ray boxset is finally winging it's way from an Opera house in the Amazon(.co.uk). A weekend spent gazing into the abyss with Klaus Kinski shall be mine!

As far as I'm concerned, the X-Men comics went downhill fast following the end of the original Brood storyline, shortly after Dave Cockrum ended his second run on Uncanny X-Men. From there on out, all the fun and joy was sucked out to be replaced with angst and grimness. I finally gave up with issue 190, and I have absolutely no desire to read any of the mainstream X-Men stories published afterward (Well, with the sole exception being X-Men: The Hidden Years, and I only read that title because John Byrne worked on it.).

Of course, I'm still happy I ended my read when I did. I don't think I would have been able to stomach the undoing of Jean Grey's death, the transformation of Cyclops into an adulterer, and Wolverine's bone claws and ridiculously overblown regenerative powers as much as I have if I'd read them first hand.

Pretty sure I remember Wolverine puncturing Hulk's eyeball with one of his bone claws. As if...

I don't even honestly like squirrels that much.  I mean yeah they are fun to get drunk with, but when they start taking advice from scarecrows  and hooking up with grey rabbits I'm out.
