I have a cassette of Young MC's album (his only one?) somewhere....
That's going deep into the Will Smith archives. I like that.
Never have I heard a truer song, by the way. Parents just don't understand.

^Why not? Is there any fun left in rap anymore?
I'm sorry, but I never liked rap.
What I listen to is too old to be called rap. I like Old Skool Hip Hop like Ice Cube or Geto Boys. If your'e gonna listen to hip hop you gotta gets some HOUSE OF PAIN!!!!!!!!
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I'm super fussy about rap/hip hop myself. Most of the stuff I like is pretty old now. Eric B. & Rakim, Kool Moe Dee, early Busta Rhymes, even The Fat Boys.
This 80s sports medley with Kool Moe Dee, Young MC and KRS-One is great:

Young MC wins by a mile. Smoooooooth. :)

KRS-One, Ghetto Boyz, Busta Rhymes, and House of Pain are pretty great. Gotta get some Kurtis Blow and Afrika Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation in there, too, though. Snoop and Dre and Ice Cube as well. Bel Biv Devoe? <_<
Generally for "newer" stuff I go for guys like Ludacris, Wildchild, Madlib/Quasimoto, Heiroglyphics, Deltron 3030/Del the Funky Homosapien, Jurassic 5, Dr. Octagynecologist/Kool Keith, Lootpack, Wu-Tang Clan... I also admit to a soft spot for Kanye West and DMX.
I'm sure there's more than that, but that's all that are coming to me. I love the underground stuff, it's just way better than the popular rap/hip-hop they put on the radio.

No thanks.
Although I am quite obviously a country music and bluegrass fanatic, there was a brief period in the 80's, while still in the throws of my youth, that I come to very much enjoy Run D.M.C. and Sir Mix-A-Lot. I still enjoy listening to their old jams to this day, but that is about the extent of my rap exposure.
Bluegrass is the only genre of music I listen to that doesn't suck in these modern times of ours.
I like a lot of bluegrass. Country doesn't do much for me. My musical tastes are all over the fuckin' map, though.

That's because it hasn't sold out.
I got into Google+. It's a stripped down Facebook, I'd like it a lot if I had more friends on there. I wish the Invite function would turn back on. It's hard to beta test a social network without a network of socialness.

Oh, but you're so wrong. Bluegrass is the sold-out version of Old Time: http://bluegrasswest.com/wordpress/?p=56

I like old country. New country is just crappy rock with a twang.

Break it down for me, oh-oh. In what ways does it differ from the facebooks?
I only joined facebook once I had the sense that it might be the last network I'd have to join. After joining flixster, shelfari, and others.

I just used the Wayback Machine to see what the site looked like before the new software.
It's kinda surreal to see it!

So how about that Google+ then?
so far it's me and 005 and not much else. Seems cool but yeah, early days and lack of socialness. I'm just there out of curiosity really.

He's 'called' other musicians worse...

sure context is key but still...
Google+ seems okay... but it sure is empty thus far.

People thought he was homophobic for writing that. How could somebody who wrote a song like Les Boys be homophobic?

Google + is pretty nice so far. It'll be better when Google opens the floodgates and lets everyone in. Otherwise it'll die like Wave did.
