I miss being the baby of the forum... I'm even younger than WESHALLPRESERVE, you know.

I didn't get the internet till I was 15, and didn't know what a podcast was until a few years ago lol

Man alive, when I was in sixth grade, a 386 was a luxury! None of this casting of pods, whatever that means. :(

For some reason, she made me hate that phrase. Since then, I hear it ev-ery-where. I never realized how overused it is in casual conversation. I just heard Anthony Bourdain use it on tonight's No Reservations. It's a stupid saying*. "Could you imagine?" Yes. You are using that phrase in response to something I just dreamed up and said out loud, so yes, I can imagine. And I've met girls like Katee that follow up practically everything they hear with, "Oh my god, could you imagine?" As if every single thing you say is borderline impossible.

So that's my random thought.

 

*Almost as idiotic as "every now and again".

I was playing along with phrases that annoy people

I use the phrase "could you imagine" but, I use it as a start of a question.

"Could you imagine 100 elephants standing on upright bamboo sticks?"

For example...

VERY NSFW.  But also very funny (pun intended).

One thing that irks me is when people say the terminology

'I could care less'

The correct terminology is

'I couldn't care less'

'I could care less' just makes no sense. If you could care less about something, then all you're telling us is that you do care, at least a little bit. Because you COULD care less. But if you couldn't care less means you don't care at all and if you wanted to care any less about it you couldn't because it's out of your 'caring spectrum.' You are so low on the caring bar-chart, as it were that you could not care less. If your caring is at 0%, then you couldn't care less.
