My wife's best-pal is getting married Tuesday. I genuinly believe that every single aspect of the entire wedding process, since the Engagement party six months ago, has been intentionally engineered to be unpleasant and inconvienient for all involved.
A few fun facts about the worst wedding ever.
-The wedding was out of town, about 90 min from where friends and family live.
-The invitation said the wedding was at 12:30 (on a Tuesday!). This was a deliberate lie. It was really scheduled at 1pm, but the bride didn't want anyone to be late. The wedding started late at 1:30.
-There was a string quartet. I figured if the wedding was late, at least I could enjoy lovely music. Well... they ran out of music and kept playing "Pachabel's Canon" from 1:00-1:30.
-The reception started at 4pm. So there was bit over 2 hours to kill. "Reception Starts" is a loaded term, because at 4pm there was a big room we could all sit in, but food, drinks, dancing, or the various events that make up a wedding reception weren't scheduled until 5:30 pm. The Bride arrived and dinner was finally served at 6:20pm.
-Between 1:50 when the ceremony ended, and 6:20 when the reception started my entire wedding- from "here comes the bride" to me and the Mrs. driving away after the reception- could have fit. There were several guests over 70, I can only imagine how hungry and uncomfortable everyone must have been.
-The groom actually said IN HIS VOWS, in front of friends and family, that he knows his wife's friends and family don't like him. Awkward.
I'll stop here, but I could easily go on and on for an hour.
