My wife's best-pal is getting married Tuesday. I genuinly believe that every single aspect of the entire wedding process, since the Engagement party six months ago, has been intentionally engineered to be unpleasant and inconvienient for all involved.

A few fun facts about the worst wedding ever.

-The wedding was out of town, about 90 min from where friends and family live.

-The invitation said the wedding was at 12:30 (on a Tuesday!). This was a deliberate lie. It was really scheduled at 1pm, but the bride didn't want anyone to be late. The wedding started late at 1:30.

-There was a string quartet. I figured if the wedding was late, at least I could enjoy lovely music. Well... they ran out of music and kept playing "Pachabel's Canon" from 1:00-1:30.

-The reception started at 4pm. So there was bit over 2 hours to kill. "Reception Starts" is a loaded term, because at 4pm there was a big room we could all sit in, but food, drinks, dancing, or the various events that make up a wedding reception weren't scheduled until 5:30 pm. The Bride arrived and dinner was finally served at 6:20pm.

-Between 1:50 when the ceremony ended, and 6:20 when the reception started my entire wedding- from "here comes the bride" to me and the Mrs. driving away after the reception- could have fit. There were several guests over 70, I can only imagine how hungry and uncomfortable everyone must have been.

-The groom actually said IN HIS VOWS, in front of friends and family, that he knows his wife's friends and family don't like him. Awkward.

I'll stop here, but I could easily go on and on for an hour.

In that hour, I could fit my entire wedding from start to finish. How long was the ceremony itself?

20 min or so. From the bride comming out to a trumpet fanfare to the quarter playing "Pachabel's Canon" for the 18th time as the newly wed couple exited.

That's not bad at all, equal to mine. Of course, it was on the weekend at 2:30, we started on time and took most of our pictures beforehand to get to the reception quickly. We didn't have dancing either, so it was just finger food and cake. Then we bolted.

Most people (but not I) would consider no dancing at a reception a bummer. Haha.
So did we, but we did it at my old church and they gave us a great deal. We also didn't want to spend all day at our wedding, so we figured no one else did either.

My favorite aspect of my wedding I wasn't there for.

The Mrs. and I did all the reception stuff, dances, toasts, throwing crap etc. Then we left. Many of our friends and families stayed and danced and drank until the building closed.

Twenty years from now, no one will remember how cool my two-tone tuxedo shoes looked or if the cake was good. But I hope people say, "I sure had a great time at Boost's wedding."

I think it's safe to say we'd all like to see those two-tone tuxedo shoes! ;)

It's funny. I was SO totally into those shoes. Thought they were the bee's knees.

They're not visible in a single video or picture taken that day. They've been lost in time like tears in rain. :(

My cousin had a hilarious pianist who played Elvis songs Les Dawson style.

The wedding march was played three times at each iteration we all turned to the closed doors of the ceremonial room (at a hotel) only for nothing to happen.

The bride to fell through the doors half way through the fourth attempt when hardly anyone was paying attention (apparently the doors were stuck on the other side).

Speaking of OT memes, I was in yearbook class Thursday and the guy next to me spelled unstobbable our way. It made me smile.

Where did the term "carp" come from?

Odds are it was a xhonzi typo, although I don't remember for sure.

Stob is definitely xhonzi's.
