ROTS Easter Egg - I Am Highly Frightened — Page 2

The funny part here is that you, iamstillhiro1112, took my post as if it was some kind of a personal crusade against you - but you're mistaken ("...about a great many things" ). I'm sorry to break your egocentric mood, but my post was aimed to all people who share your point of view - and the first one here was bigbaddaddyvader.
Judging from the tone of your post you like to argue on internet forums. Too bad you try to put people's words out of context (like my #4, for example). You miss to make valid points, either. This clip was present on DVD, so it was a part of a product - be it only as a hidden "easter egg". Please prove that LFL intended this to be relased freely (a link perhaps? youtube means nothing - I've seen a lot of pirated content being pulled off from it, including LFL/LEC stuff posted by SW-fans). Don't forget that even putting extra free content on the disc does cost some $, as organizing a worldwide DVD release is a large project, every change and addition means time, and time = $.

And about the extra scenes: let me be the first to enlighten you, that what some people want badly, is an unaltered movie + those restored cut-off scenes as extras on bonus dics. This way we don't mess with the movie, yet still have a chance to see unreleased material.

============================================================

Now, having read the article (thnx see you auntie) I assume this clip was done by LFL employees in their free time (secret project done during the weekends), so it's almost "fan-created stuff", but put on official merchandise. If that's true then I feel slightly better

Do you feel better too, iamstillhiro1112?
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

1. "There are various people who call themselves "SW fans":
There are "I like everything that has SW logo on it", easy-to-please people, who accept everything. " - That line reeks of egocentricism. If you were humble you wouldn't add "I'm not like that".

2. I doubt they tacked on an extra dollar for such a short clip. The cost of the dvd is likely from the other content. Like the hours of documentaries, the commentary. I can see the justification of the price myself. I kind of doubt that Lucas is gonna offer a .50 cent cheaper dvd without the easter egg cause it wouldn't sell.

Uh, it doesn't quite work like that. You don't think the suggested retail price of every DVD reflects its production cost do you? There is sort of a standard price out there for DVDs that has nothing to do with production expenses. Of course the Yoda scene does not make the price of the DVD go up, but it could be time and resources spent on other things. And it does cost a lot more than a buck to make. That video is a lot of work behind a computer, and the employees have to be paid for it.

Why does this bother you so much? Several people think it is stupid and for some reason you can't seem to live with that. It is okay if it gives you kicks. I am sure a lot of people enjoy watching rap videos staring little green men.

my .50 cent estimate was taking into acount mass production and sale. Splitting the cost among many consumers.

I guess it don't bother me so much that people don't like the cartoon. But I thought the hate for it was a little over the top. In fact I would say that hate for it even reached cartoon levels.

Your backlash against peoples hate for it is pretty cartoony itself.

Dont encourage him any futher C3PX. If he cant accept other people CAN have an opinion on anything no matter how trivial, without posting a reply that aims to bait anyone who cares enough to get uptight to his response, then let him play somewhere else

I was not intending to encourage anyone to debate this more, I just thought stillhiro's comment about the level of hate being like a cartoon was funny.

I would say my responces were at most equal to the level of hatred to the cartoon. Although I stopped short of saying the cartoon saved the franchise. Whereas another equated this to a contribution of the franchises demise.

"I hope the fans will appreciate Hip Hop Yoda with a smile and laugh as much as the Star Wars team did during our Episode III 'monthlies' screening," Michel d'Annoville smiles. "Yoda is a wise, old Master Jedi who can always surprise us."

So is the break dancing Yoda now part of SW canon then? The article said George liked it after all, and it made the official DVD release.

I suppose its about as canon as the alternate ending for the official Star wars episode 3 video game where Anakin kills obiwan and the emporer.

Say what?!

EDIT: I can't believe that many people took that much time to create dancing Yoda. It's what, 3 mins long? To echo what some others have said, couldn't they have spent that time restoring footage from the OOT that hadn't been used? That's something that I think far more fans want than a stupid dancing Yoda (yeah, it's kind of funny once, but it has no repeat value).

That comment was mentioned earlier in the thread anyway. I probably responded to it already.

It was and I wasn't trying to draw a response. I was simply echoing the sentiment.

I would have thought the dancing Yoda thing was something someone did either on a weekend or during their lunch break. Not something that took a month (or more) to complete. I cannot imagine putting that much effort into 3 mins worth of footage just to show off a dance class (since it wasn't originally going on the DVD).

How about instead of showing us the dancing Yoda, show us the process that a 3 minute scene goes through in it's creation? I haven't watched all the extras on the ROTS DVD, so maybe they did include something like that. I know the Ice Age DVDs have a behind the scenes look where you can change the camera angle and see the scene at each step of the process.

They did. There was a two-hour long documentary detailing every thing that went into making one minute of the Obi-Wan/Vader duel. It was interesting the first time, but it's just too tedious for me to want to watch very often.

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.
