I don’t care. Other people have reiterated their opinions before.

There’s no doubt that VHS sucks. Still, it’s kinda neat to watch a cassette through an HDTV; the twain were never meant to meet, and as a result they create a weird yet interesting aesthetic together.

I still remember my VCR, my family sold it in a garage sale around 2009. Never had Star Wars on VHS though, I grew up watching the 2004 DVD Editions of the OT and my parents never bothered buying the prequels. Now I wish I did have it on VHS, the 97 SEs would’ve atleast been somewhat more bearable than what I grew up watching.

I still need to buy a new working VCR and they now do this???

You would want something a little better than what’s made now for preservation purposes. Most of what people around here use haven’t been made in years anyway.

Where were you in '77?

Why would anybody want to watch a VHS today?

I saved a lot of family home videos. I should probably get them preserved digitally though.

We covet our old machines like they’re gold … because they are. I have my Panasonic AG1980 maintained 2x a year to keep it working smoothly. It certainly comes in handy for my Godzilla VHS archiving.
