I just posted this in the Star Wars section, but since I don't think all of you frequent it:

I was just looking through Wikipedia a second ago reading bios of Star Wars cast members. I had just read Alec Guiness and then went to James Earl Jones. And it said that he died today (May 14, 2006)! Can anyone confirm the validity of this? Is he really dead?

Well, I haven't been able to confirm it yet. You can't always take Wikipedia's word on everything, and I've done some searching and haven't found any more information on it. That's why I'm asking if anybody else heard about it.

I've checked Wikipedia and Internet Movie Database and they don't have a date of death for James Earl Jones.

After even the most minimal research, I began to think that it was a hoax. I agree with theredbaron, though, that it is kinda weird that I'd just happen to run into it this day. As an even bigger coincidence (or an effect of subconscious memory), there was a Lion King reference in my dream last night.

Whoa!

Why would someone do that? It's not like Jones is a constnatly public figure. Nobody knew about him before Starwars and the average person wouldn't know who he was if you mentioned him by name.

Ever see that Simpsons episode where Bleeding Gums Murphy dies then appears to Lisa in the Clouds, and both Mufasa and Darth Vader appear as well?
