Yes but here the thing, I burned it and it wouldn't play on my dvd player, so I decided to try it by extracting the files and it worked. I burned it with Alcohol 120%, I'll try ImgBurn after I watch this.

and please don't ever talk down to me again, Strangelove.

hmmm... I sure don't know what is wrong there and am sorry if it doesn't work as it is supposed to be. I made it an iso, because nero gave me a well known error of being unable to order the contents.
It works fine when I burnt it as iso. the iso contains the video_ts, audio_ts and DVD-rom folders and should display with no problem.

So maybe you will have to exract the files to properly burn it.

Damn. I hate it when stuff does not work as it is supposed to.

Is there any way to burn this properly with nero as an iso then? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going to be pretty bummed if no one else has and I end up being one the only ones who can't have a full disc.

I am still seeding this though.

Maybe nero was unable to order the contents because there's files inside the VIDEO_TS directory which don't belong there: _spcLB.bmp & _spcPS.bmp.
Furthermore, the files which do belong in VIDEO_TS aren't ordered in compliance with the DVD-Video spec.
They're ordered as BUP, IFO, VOBs (alphabetical order) when they should be IFO, VOBs, BUP at the end.

Apologies to JD for cluttering this thread.

That's something that really annoys me. The amount of work that you, and others, have put into fan releases then someone comes along and makes a load of money from them. I think we should start our own rebellion and overthrow their empire.

Anyway, i had a few friends and my daughters round to watch Returning to Jedi tonight and they all agree with me that you have done an amazing job with this. It was so much better than watching just making of featurettes. So informative and seeing the new footage was pretty funny to see us all, simultaneously, jump to the edge of our seats and go "WOW". We all felt like a bunch of kids getting the latest "in" toy for Christmas.I really hope that you are going to tackle ANH because even though Deleted magic was also amazing, it would be great to have a trilogy release from you that flow together.

If you ever need any help, just give me a shout

Yeh, these files would create a major problem with some DVD players. They should not be within the VIDEO_TS folder. Just either move them outside the VIDEO_TS in a created DVD_ROM folder or just delete them from the structure before burning.

You need to unpack the ISO file to reveal the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders so that you can eliminate these files. You can then either burn the folders using nero or create a new ISO with ImgTool Classic or any other ISO creation tool

hmmmm...youa re right, there are really those two bmps. I wonder where they came from...
so this means for all of you: please open the iso file with an image tool like alcohol or daemon tools, burn the contents without the two bmp files with nero (or your regular burnign software)and you should be good to go.
I am really sorry for the inconvinience. Still the DVD works as it is. Feel free to post it as a different torrent. I will put up a corrected version on Rapidshare in a week or so.

You could create a .ppf file to correct the errors that would only be a small file to correct the error without having to re-upload a complete new torrent. Just Use PPFOMATIC to apply a ppf patch, so simple. not sure what prog you use to create the patch but i'll have a search around and let you know..

This is ridiculous now. I have no idea now what program to use to try to take the bmp files out (I've tried 2 different iso programs, but they have space limitations on resaving). I'd really like a burnable iso without any problems for a change. This isn't fair...

Do yourself a favor and forget trying to create an ISO file (especially if it's giving you trouble). Open the existing ISO, copy all the files out of it to somewhere on your hard drive, delete the bmp files (or move them to the DVD-ROM folder if there is one), and then just burn the files to a new DVD-Video project using Nero.

If the above isn't an option (you don't have Nero or whatever) then what iso programs are you trying to use?

Screw off Davey. I have been trying to redo the iso file and I've had no luck. I opened it, took the bmp files out and thanks to size limits, I can't redo the iso file. So I ended up extracting everything and burning it through Nero the usual way. Oh well.

This is interesting. I'll try DVDDecrypter later and see what happens.

Though most of us here don't get along with OCP, I'd say leave DM as it is. It is amazing and is the inspiration for JD's Empire and Jedi projects but unless there's substantial enough footage and lost info to warrant a better release, I'd let DM lie.

Deleted Magic is a different style of format to BE and RTJ and doesn't really sit right with their 'cousins' as such. DM is a work of art, but i'm sure OCP would admit things can be elaborated or adapted upon even if not much else can be added to it. Its not really a case of trying to better Deleted Magic.

Also, the thread is turning technical again! Okay, its annoying to have files sitting on the Hard Drive and not being able to get them to disk, but its usually a case of trial and error with experience(i poo poo'd nero from V.7 onwards because of buggs in the software), and not cause to churn every problem to the threads to see if i can get an answer time. How about working at offering a solution, rather than a problem?

It seems as though the torrent has gone out to 300ish people in its PAL format at this stage (thats a hell of a lot of burning time/mailing to and from saved Jambe) after a week. And, its nice to see long time lurkers at the OT come out and make that 1st post down this project (i initially lurked for ages before finding something worthy of taking the plunge to make a 1st post here-again i also think i'd been drinking at that particular time).

Howz about some more reviews here perhapz?

I also would like to make a special mention to the 'all ships pull up' SFX sequence in the doco, just because i used the step back button on my DVD player (for the 1st time in a very, very long time), to check if my mind wasn't playing tricks on what i'd just thought i'd seen (and as just because it's not been commented as yet upon). Thats something that should have been added. Mind you, i loved that rumour about the Millenium Falcon being destroyed when leaving the Death Star 2.

Gonna do that interview at all Jambe?

I'm gonna see what I can do to spread the word of this with some my friends and in a couple SW groups I'm part of here and there.

All I would do with Deleted Magic is limited to some fixes here and there (shorten the pre-movie intro, delete the repeated bit before C3P0's bath, delete a black frame or two, etc), but nothing huge...unless you want to make it widescreen like the other two volumes. It's your call, but I'd say no rush. I can't wait to see Returning to Jedi, and neither can my friends.

What about this guy?

P.S. I just burned boon's NTSC unmodified, using Toast, and it seems to play fine even with those bmp's in there. Looks terrific, by the way.

I dunno if this was mentioned earlier in the thread anywhere, but I found a typo. In the scenes explaining Leia's first encounter with the "Ewaks", you made a typo with "acavern". Other then that I'm very much enjoying this. I laughed at mark's commentary about Luke & Leia's "sister" speech too.

Well, IVE used Decrypter to burn the .iso and had no errors. On playback (just to check, not going through the whole movie), so far on the PC, these are the results: Power DVD 7: no picture, just audio. On Win DVD, no problems, on VLC nothing - no picture or sound. Real Player has picture but no sound. Media Player Classic seems to work fine. Windows Media Player 11 seems to play fine. I'm at work so I won't be able to check these on my standalones until I get home. I don't know if those .bmp files can effect playback though. But I would think I can just fix tat by decrypting it back on the HD and removing those files specifically.

Yeah, I've seen him too. Again, I did think about integrating it but I decided not to.

I have officially lost the thread of this thread.

BTW if I do a 'Star Wars' project I won't be using Deleted Magic, I will be starting from scratch.
