Thanks Rev! Glad you liked it.

Daveytod, I used Final Cut Pro's text function along with a black slug and mixes to do the subs on 'Returning to Jedi'. They are therefore burnt in, but at least I had more control when creating them.

Re: PAL speedup. I am sure you guys can live with it. Boon has done a great service for you all here.

I also just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone so much for their efforts on getting this out there!

Cheers

I had the BE done over a month ago but we were wanting the PAL speedup corrected. That's what was causing the problem. Every technique I was able to find info on used methods that didn't alter the sound. Anyway, it was driving me nuts, so I stepped away briefly to come at it again fresh.

Can't wait to see this one.

Boon,

Does your NTSC conversion keep the menus or is it just the main documentary/movie?

"The Empire can't stop us now..now its our turn" -Luke-

It has all the menus, all the extras and even about the same chapters (the easter egg is also there). I tried to copy what jambe did to 100%, which added up to about 95% accuracy.
So you will hardly spot much of a difference at all.
The "about" segment was based on a still menu and I was not able to extract that, so I had to screenshoot it, rearrange the size for NTSC and it fits kind of, but you can see a little stutter there, when the transitions change to the image.

I've been invited to do a phone interview on a radio show in Chicago.

The producer has directed me to http://mancow.com/. I think it's the 'morning madhouse show'.

What do you guys think? Is it a well known show?

Dude go for it! That's the kind of break many people can't wait to get! besides, you've provided something great to the community and deserve to talk about it!!

Yeah, go for it. I think Garrett done the same thing after Deleted Magic came out. I would stipulate being refered to as JambeDavdar rather than your real name just as a precaution. Just remember us if/when Hollywood comes a knocking though.

I live in Illinois, so I've heard of Mancow. You can read more about him on Wikipedia. I would say go for it if you don't mind his show's format (tamer version of Howard Stern). It would be a nice opportunity to speak about all the issues though.

I watched up until the sail barge explosion/sandstorm last night. This movie is great. Like the others, I'm amazed by how much stuff you've been able to pack in, and how much rare stuff, too. The lightsaber building scene was really fun. The footage you got from people who snuck on the sail barge set was great, too - nice to see it show up in here (and so clean!).

Where is the sandstorm footage originally from? A trailer? Also, in your research, how many of the deleted scenes from ESB and ROTJ were actually fully filmed? Just curious.

I'd say more, but I'm still going through the movie. Overall, this has been really great. Thanks for all your hard work!

My only issue so far (and this is a problem on my end) is that when I watch this, it's like it is anamorphic widescreen on my 4:3 TV, without resizing itself to fit my TV. So, the left and the right sides are cut off. It looks fine on my computer, naturally. I am assuming it is just an issue with my player, or with the settings I have on. I have no idea how to fix it, though, if I even can. I've never had an issue with NTSC anamorphic movies on this player, so the player might just not be fully compatible with PAL. Oh well.

Andy: In your DVD player setup options for display or output, make sure that "4:3 Widescreen" is selected and not "4:3 P&S". That's probably the issue.

JD: Totally do the interview! Mancow's very well known around here, I'd say.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I hear that someone is already selling this on Yahoo auctions with a bunch of other fan-created projects. This angers me, as i'm sure it does all of you. Do a google search for "returning to jedi" and you can find it.

Anyways, if anyone can make a copy, please PM me. I have no access to a DVD burner and I'm DESPERATE to see it.

First off: fantastic job on this. Totally awesome, and can't wait to see more of your stuff come out (not pushing you into it, you deserve a huge break). I especially loved the lightsaber; behind the scenes stuff is one thing, but to have something that's never really been shown anywhere else, that's awesome.

Second:
Andy: Back on page 38 h0rnytoad had the same problem, and as luck would have it, I had that problem too. The IFO's have the movie set as automatic pan and scan on a 4:3 display. Try the Reverend Beastly's suggestion first. If it works, great. If not, back up the original to disk and then get a program like pgcedit and change the IFOs. It's not that big a deal really, just a check box.

well, this documentary is better spread than any was before. If they don't find it now for free, what else can you do?

I think the main reason pay for these things is because they aren't tech savvy enought to get it for themselves, or, like me, they don't have access to a DVD burner to make their own copy. I'm practically begging shamelessly for a copy and getting no response, so I can understand the frustration of folks who are eager to see this but have no other way to get it than to buy it from a soulless scalper.

Think that Mancow is a shock jock in the vein of Howard Stern.....do it anyway......more people that see this the better

I know I've mentioned something like this before, but how come Darth Editous' NTSC and PAL versions of his stuff look absolutely perfect? Is it because he's converting from source files on his computer, whereas this and other projects are converting from the movie already on a DVD? Sorry that I don't have the terms down, but maybe you'll know what I'm getting at anyway.

Hi, I think because you are new and aren't offerring anything to trade means that you might get overlooked. Offer to pay it forward perhaps?

But hey, send me your address and I will see what I can do.

You can make an auction on ebay and explain it's not for sale and give all the links to the download options.
