My parents just watched it on DVD from Netflix this past week but I didn't. Maybe I should have, what made it so good?

Its real and it's a beautiful story. Deals with real life issues.

Actually, I saw the musical twice in Chicago and loved it. One of my faves ever. I don't want to see the movie and ruin the memory even though most of the original Broadway cast is in it. Just a bit scared to check it out.
