Long story. When I tried to download the Star Wars Despecialized Edition at one of the popular torrent sites, it gave my computer a virus.
Yeah, what towne32 said. I hate seeing people blame a product when they just did it wrong. So, I would suggest using a program that doesn’t have adware or malware in it (PM me for info), and don’t go to one of those previously mentioned virus sites. When it comes to finding stuff on the internet, you’ve got to be smart about what you click on. But, I don’t know your circumstances, and if you’re set on not using torrents, then that’s your decision.

Agreed. Some folks may not be as knowledgeable about torrenting, have one bad experience due to not being informed properly, and then it’s all over. Try googling uTorrent. It should give you a good read on the what and how so as not to fall victim to some nameless entity looking for your personal info.

My suggestion was to aid the person in understand torrenting, not to suggest an actual torrent client for use.

Sort of feels like the studio did not intentionally let that out. I’m wondering if they know about the ebay sale.

As it’s from 1983, (when episodes were first remastered for syndication and probably the early home video releases) it might be redundant or even something that was forgotten about. The alternate version of Where No Man Has Gone Before turned up in the hands of a collector, didn’t it?
The price is insane though. (And no soundtrack.) Probably to be expected with the 50th anniversary coming up this fall.

Nope. The scenes from the theatrical and the TV cuts not used (or changed) in the Director’s Edition were included on the bonus disc of the Director’s Edition DVD.
