Well, you get what I'm saying. These stories aren't exactly writen by Pulitzer winning authors. They are just fan fictions (how ever professionally writen) and Lucas can brush their stories aside easily.

Well, Lucasfilm doesn't exactly bring in some random guy on the street, yet they don't bring in Stephen King, either.

I have heard, however, that they don't just choose anyone to write their novels. For instance, they never allow people to request to write a novel. Authors are chosen, based on their past work. People like Timothy Zahn and Steve Perry are people who are deemed talented enough to write a Star Wars novel, based on the opinions of Lucasfilm. And when planning the books, the authors work VERY close together to keep continuity with each other and Lucas. However, occasionally, a few bad books slip by.

they did have better authors but lucasfilm when they started the new order series refused to give out royalties instead just gave out a flat fee which pissed off the quality writers so they werent interested in writing them cuz lucasfilm is greedy

That would explain a lot and also why so many of the writers for NJO were writers from TSR, of Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms. They are authors used to wriiting for an established universe, too.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

I've never understood why the Jedi didn't realize the whole war was a setup when they discovered that the guy who was the template for the clones, Jango Fett, was trailed and found to be working for Dooku and the Separatists. Didn't anybody find this just a little suspicious? Oh no, they just thought 'looks like we'd better use these clones then, wow this is convenient!'
