Finally, rendering of reel 2 is done.  Encoding a test .m2v now.  Already synched the audio (I hope... you're never quite sure with the pulldown), so at long last there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I think that's the Death Star reactor... don't forget to turn around afterwards and get your ass back out there ;)

i've started to lose count of the number of must-have versions that are scheduled to come out in 2012. it feels kind of repetative to keep posting in each persons thread that they are doing awesome work, especially when you don't really altogether understand the technical aspects of what theyre doing!! but i'll say anyhow: you are putting in great care on this puggo to our benefit, can't wait to see the finished celluloid awesomeness

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this is like the countdown to Christmas when you're 8 years old.

^ What's occurred which requires fixing?

Author
Time
  1. yellowing at two corners of reel 2
  2. yellowing at one corner of reel 3
  3. bright scratch in one frame of reel 1 - brief but surprisingly noticeable
  4. hair for a couple of seconds in reel 1 - already have fix but forgot to splice it in.

All simple stuff.

And of course I need to watch the whole thing on DVD to make sure I didn't miss anything else, and that the sound synch is solid.

I thought there would be a HD version.

I even remember you saying that you redo the Puggo Grande in HD.

Have you dropped the HD-Version or are you just doing the DVD first?

Doing the DVD first.  I still consider them first and foremost to be research material, and the DVD allows me to include an extra with relevant details, leaders, etc.  Also easier to cover up the shortcomings of my capture :)

And a DVD is a lot easier for lame people like me to watch =|

Sounds great. Thank you.

I like your work. I´ve watched the Puggo Grande many times in my home cinema.

I have a full HD beamer and my screen is 4,30m so a HD Version would be nice.

Seeing theese films this way is almost time travel back to the 70ies.

Can´t wait to see the new one.

After several experiments, I decided to do some of the corrections, but to leave some of them alone.  So the film is pretty much done.  I have to watch the whole thing for a final test to be sure, and I'll probably have Jaxxon take a look at it too before calling it a wrap.

I also sound synced the "extra", and finished encoding it.

Next up is the "making of" mini-doc.  I pretty much know what I'm going to do for that, so it shouldn't take all that long.  After that, I'll do the menu.  I've decided to stick with the same menu theme as PG, as that would give the trilogy a unifying "look".

In short, this thing is coming together a little faster than first anticipated despite my crunch time at work.  Expect an August completion.
