My family wanted to watch the original trilogy, so I went and got the despecialized versions since my special edition vhs tapes wouldn't do.

However, I just can't find good timed dutch subtitles in srt format, any chance you could provide a dl link for those?

Thanks!

Hi there,

I recently started watching Despecialized Editions and was very pleased with the excellent quality of Finnish subtitles for Star Wars. Could I get a link where I could download subtitles for Finnish and English for Despecialized Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi?

Thanks for the amazing work on preserving these classic movies!

The wife is an all-out Star Wars fanatic (me too, just slightly less),  so we have three VHS sets of Episodes IV-VI (original, remastered & special), plus three Dvd sets (Ep. I-III, and two versions of Ep. IV-VI), plus the blu-ray boxset. Of course we cannot miss the Despecialized. Looking for Italian & English subs for all the three movies.

Thanks in advance!

I believe that the most recent release is on MySpleen.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Hello. I recently started watching the Despecialized Editions, planning to watch the whole trilogy back-to-back. However, I can't seem to find Finnish subtitles for ESB and ROTJ anywhere. I'm desperately in need of help.

Thank you in advance!

Hello.
Could you be so kind and send me a PM with link to Polish subtitles for all Despecialized Editions? I mean New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Thanks a lot.

Project files have been updated to version 6.3 (original post has been updated as well). This is a pretty minor update, but I felt enough unrelated small updates had accumulated to justify a release.  Please PM me for the temporary download links until the files are available in a more permanent location.

Rough summary of changes:

- Minor improvements to Polish subtitles (Star Wars only, thanks to Feallan)

- Minor changes to SDH formatting (Empire and Jedi only, essentially reverting to 6.1 formatting)

- Minor documentation improvements

- Project Threepio now includes a modified version of MuxMan for people who want to use free DVD authoring software.  The latest official version of MuxMan (long unmaintained) has a bug in the language code for Indonesian (it uses "in" instead of "id") and some DVD players can't tell what that means.  The only difference in the modified version is that it uses the correct language code for Indonesian.

- I have now made a second attempt at right-aligning double-dialogue in Arabic, with better results (screenshot in original post). For background: I use vsfilter to render the subtitles, and vsfilter has known issues with RTL scripts, Indic scripts, and perhaps others.  This solution should bring RTL scripts up to parity with other scripts... assuming there isn't some other sort of crazy unworkable problem that I don't know about because I can't read Arabic.  Either way, in the event vsfilter proves unworkable for some future script, I think I've laid the groundwork for allowing an alternate rendering engine to be used.

Fantastic release and better help done by Catbus, I was able to redo my avchd of the despecialized edition to add the subs, you are a champ man...Thanks a lot.

Is there any plan to add subs for some of the documentaries like begins, building and some of the supplemental materials? I see a big potencial for this project to cover all other SW fan releases.

again my gratitude and appreciation for everything done for the foreigners and with hearing impairments like me.

No, this project is limited in scope to the OT films. However, I've designed this project as a sort of complete subtitling toolkit/template so that others can build on what I've done, as needed.  So, while I don't personally plan on any expansion more radical than adding languages, that's not to say someone else couldn't use some of my tools and workflow to create something different.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and you're very welcome. Making these films accessible to deaf viewers was in fact the whole reason this project got started.  It just got a little out of control...

I just found that my BD copy of the lastest SW Episode IV Special Edition by SetRules 1.0 available at myspleen, has the subtitles  placed in my screen, they looks way behind the widescreen black bars, so Im planning to demux it to add newer subs from your lastest pack of project threepio, my question is what version of SW english 720p sups? are ok for the special editions?

This project has subtitles only for the unaltered theatrical versions--no Special Edition subtitles.

If any Special Edition subtitles were derived from Project Threepio, my subtitles were simply used as a baseline and the alterations/additions/retimings were done by someone else... I haven't provided any SE subtitles to anyone.  What's in the project is what everyone else has.
