Project Threepio (Star Wars OOT subtitles) — Page 17

Okay, one last update.  The current SRT files for RTL languages (the ones with an -rtl extension), only really work in software that fully supports RTL and BiDi, which, as far as I can tell for media players, is none of them.

So, if you're interested in Hebrew or Arabic SRT files, I now have a new set of SRT files with a -compat extension, which should work much better.  These will be released in the next version of Project Threepio, but are available now via PM.

I tested only VLC, MPC, and Notepad (Notepad is the definitive dumb text software) but all three worked, with the exception of VLC displaying a small and fairly inobtrusive garbage character on two lines in Star Wars.  Other software may behave differently, because after all, we're talking about software that doesn't behave correctly to begin with.  I haven't figured out a way to get rid of that garbage character in VLC without introducing worse problems, but I'm still looking into it.

So in the next release, each RTL language will have two SRT files: "-rtl", which is still used for making changes and generating graphical subtitles, and "-compat", which is created by running the "-rtl" file through a subtitle-mangling routine to create something that works better with software media players.  So if a change is made to the "-rtl" file, that file needs to be re-run through the mangling routine to propagate that change to the "-compat" file.

Also, you'll need to use a subtitle editor that fully supports RTL/BiDi to edit the "-rtl" files, but finding one of those is, thankfully, a whole lot easier.

First of all, thanks for all the work.

I feel like a whore for creating an account just to ask for this, but here goes. I'm looking for both the english and portuguese european versions and would love it if you could provide me with a download link.

Such a great work. I only got introduced to this project last night. And since then I have not done anything but read on this one. I am still waiting for invite on Myspleen so I can actually download latest version in its full glory but since my patience was running out, i went ahead and downloaded some versions from public trackers. Can not tell if New Hope is 2.5 or older version but I want to do a Star wars marathon and can hardly wait anymore.

I even downloaded from paradox, downloaded mega link for New Hope but when tried to unrar it, it kept on giving me errors, so discarded that approach too.

Now problem is, I want to play these movies through Plex and unfortunately, I could not make vob subs run through it.

So I am requesting SRT files for English Subs for all 3 movies, please!

PM sent. The latest version of Despecialized Star Wars is 2.5, IIRC the MKV should be in the neighborhood of 16-17GB.  Empire MKV is 2.0, about 20GB.  Jedi AVCHD is 1.0, about 6-7GB.  Hope that helps.

Got the PM. downloading subs now. Thank you so much. Will wait to see if i can get invite anytime soon, so I can download those files through torrent, as its more convenient and fast way. If nothing else will try those links at paradox again to get rars, but I always try to avoid multiple rars, as for me they end up giving errors. I wish it was one single big rar instead of 30-40 rars :(

Thank you again for sub file.

First of all, thank you very much for this amazing work.

And Second, can you provide me a link to download the subs in Spanish for the first three movies (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi), for some reason the download came without subs...

Thanks Again.

Hello,

I just heard about these great fan restoration projects for the original trilogy for the first time, it's great that someone is willing to do something like this.

Anyway, I just downloaded the despecialized trilogy (even though I wasn't able to find the 17gb and 20gb versions of a New Hope and the Empire strikes Back) and I was hoping maybe if you could send me a PM for the English SRT files of the original trilogy?

Thank you very much.

XViD release

 You goddamn heathen

I suppose it doesn't help my case when I say I intend to play it back on my xbox, using xbmc4xbox?  ;P

Seriously I had to use bittorrent to find the videos and this was the only collection which had all three so I went with it.  Still looks nice and has surround sound so as much as I'm trying to avoid what I call "legacy files" (except when searching for family videos for the xbox) but when I'm unable to get MKV or MP4 and the XViD looks good...meh.

So subs?  Please?

I'll download newest Threepio and PM the subs to you and the other guy.

BTW all Despecialized Editions are available on Myspleen, which has open registration at the moment.

Not sure what's going on but I had to go to no style in Pale Moon (Firefox) in order to get a usable text box... Thanks for the PM, I appreciate it! I signed up on Myspleen (had to use a different username due to restrictions on number of characters allowable) but I'm a member now. Honesty have always preferred File Lockers for the last few years but I'll give it a shot going forward for my Fanedit needs.
