Printed film resolution?

Hello, everyone. I recently found an eBay listing of one of my favourite 3D animated films on 35mm (and recently found out about these forums from a friend). It never got a 4K release, only ever a DVD and Blu-ray, so I’m wondering if now’s my chance to see it in such a resolution. But since the highest resolution it was commercially released was in 1080p, does that mean the film will also just be 1080p? I know film doesn’t really have a resolution, but I want to be safe. I don’t want to say what it is out of fear that someone may snatch it, but it was released in 2010. I’m sorry if any of this seems stupid, I don’t know all that much about printed film.

Since it is an animated movie, it would need to have been rendered in 4k. So it kinda does not matter all too much how high the resolution for the 35mm film is.
If it was released in 2010, chances are quite high it was not rendered in 4k. You might get a bit more detail than the 1080p version, but I doubt it would be much.
