Sorry that it's been a while, but my wireless is now back up.

I'll need to go back and rewatch the clip to answer question #1, but, in response to rearranging the Jedi chamber sequence, it's an interesting idea. However, the way it plays out right now, there is too little action that occurs with Obi-wan to account for the larger amount of time which passes for the chamber scene. Maybe you could cut back and forth between the two to make this less noticeable?

Hey, Tome!. Finally watched your Grievous edits 1 & 2 again for comments on the music focusing on the spots where Grievous has dialogue. I'm not much of a musician, but GoodMusician has an ear for these kind of things; maybe you could request that he take a listen, too. I'm actually a little nervous over smoothing out the score for my edit.

Clip1: (@ 0:57 in the file) Nice! Can't tell where the new music edit starts!
(@ 1:22) I don't know if this was an edit or if it was simply the file encoding, but there is a slight audio pop as you cut to the next scene.

Clip2: (@ 0:44) Music dips a little quickly.
(@ 0:48) Music suddenly loudens then drops again.
(@ 2:27) Nice! Music transitions are nice IMO! The music here is from the animated source, no? The only thing is that it seems slightly out of place with the music surrounding it. But we work with what we've got, right?

Thanks for looking at the music for me Darkhelmet. I'll take a look at that volume swell you mentioned. I still have a lot of work to do smoothing out the audio, but I'm glad the basics all work.

That said, my mind is a bit fried from all the Episode III I've forced on myself, so I'm taking a small break by working on my Episode I edit for a bit. However, to tide you over till I attack Episode III again I shall make my new and improved opening space battle available. Its close to the original, but I've fixed some audio issues and some of the pacing. It's not perfect, but its getting closer.

Hey, Tome. I wanted to let you know that I am in awe of the opening space battle you cut for Episode III!

I've been referencing it (stealing) as I've begun the anamorphic, 5.1 surround sound editing of my fan edit! I'm hoping I can do as a good of a job as you have without mine being a complete rip off!

Hey! Thanks a lot man. Thats always good to hear. I guess I kind of fell off the face of the Earth there for a while. I am still doing work on the edit, though its starting to take a very different form than I originally anticipated. I've updated my original post to give a better idea of my progress, though I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of changes I've made, especially to Episode I. Stay tuned though, as I hope to actually release something in the next couple of months.

Definitely! I'd love to know how long it took you to figure out that sequence of shots! Good to hear that you are still working on it and Episode I. So, a new form, huh? I'll be checking out that updated post and eagerly anticipating the release. Cheers!

Cool ideas, I keep thinking that I'm going to do a prequel edit, but eventually, I think I can just take my favorite parts from all the PT edits, and make one to my needs.

TheTome, do you think you can re-up that ep iii opening? I'd like to check it out.

Alright, update time again!
Well, over the past few month I've made some major changes to the scope of my project. After spending a few months fighting with massive pacing issues and weird plot holes I came to an interesting conclusion, there was no way that I could see to create the movies I'd always wanted with the existing footage. So instead I have decided to create a prequel TV series instead. The format will be as follows:

-Each Movie has now become a single season, making for 3 complete seasons.
-Each season will be a total of 5 episodes long.
-Each episode will contain its own original opening crawl and title.
-Each episode will be roughly 30 minutes long including opening crawl and credits.
-The seasons will retain their original movie title (eg. Season I: The Phantom Menace)
-Each Episode will have its own title (some of which I've admittedly borrowed from previous fan projects)

This allows me to fix a few problems. First, fast pacing of the movies feels much less out of place when place in an episodic format. Second, the additional opening crawls helps to flesh out situations and characters a little better.

I have just finished Season I, with only the final rendering needing to be done, and I'm closing in on finishing Season II. But I'm running short on time as I will be going on a massive vacation in mid January that will keep me away from my computer for quite a while. So I must ask if there is anyone here who is willing to help me complete this project.

The help I need is simple, I'm in good stead to finish the episodes on my own, but there is no way I can feasibly create a DVD release of this in time. Is there anyone out here who would be interested in taking care of the DVD end? If so please PM me and we can see if we're on a similar wavelength. Thanks!!!!

P.S. I should be releasing the episodes individually over the next week or so.

Since I can’t get the flipping Youtube video system working and I’m sure you know what I’m talking about that is site is messed up!

Anyway while sifting though some of the links on this thread and finding that some no longer exist or where the Keck is the play button as there’s a video on page 1 posted by (darkhelmet) so where’s the press to play, thanks.

Pardon? Firstoff, thats not a streaming video at all, thats a download link, so in order to play it you have to download it first. Second, if you read the post that one was from, you'll notice it's not from this edit at all, but from Darkhelmet's edit.

As for why some of the links don't work, well, I'll work at fixing that at some point, but thats just a curse of free file hosting. After all, most of those links are months old.

This clip from episode III is still up however, so feel free to check that out.

Good to see you back on your thread, Tome! It's an interesting and cool development that the prequel movies, inspired in Lucas in part by classic serial sci-fi (I'm assuming short films or early TV), are coming full circle back to the source of their inspiration with your edits.

It makes perfect sense for the reasons you mentioned for the movies to work in a serial TV show format. I wish I could help with the DVD release, but I'm swamped. I look forward to checking out the individual episodes!
