Ok, thanks! I've got that one, so I'll just convert it to DVD for myself, and hope that Moth3r can up a DVD version sometime (nudge).

OK, here's the deal:

I never had the VHS source for this (and I don't know where the VHS came from, or how many generations down the line it was). The guy who owned the tape was very generous to make a dub for me using a DVD recorder.

I received the raw recording on two discs, and the quality was awful. I ran the video through some pretty agressive AviSynth filtering - to restore the 24fps, filter out video noise and fix some of the chroma shift. Even after this, I didn't think there was much point in uploading a 4.38GB DVD when there was little or no quality benefit over a 1.4GB MPEG-4 file. (And most people can play MPEG-4 on their DVD players these days.)

One of these days I'll get around to uploading the raw source discs, should anyone else like to take a shot at cleaning it up and releasing their own version.

Thanks for the info Moth3r! So you don't think that there would be any improvement in the picture going from a mpeg-4 to a full DVD? I would love to see those raw discs sometime. I could even upload them to the appropriate places to save you the trouble of doing it, if you would want to send me a copy.

If i remember correctly this was the release used as a reference to the original Alien Subtitles and font used when Greedo Speaks Huttese in the Mos Eisley Cantina.

Thank you Angel. If its a real prob and Admin asks me to change it I will but I really dont see what the prob is with this one. I cant get much smaller.

So does anyone know of where I can find this torrent for ANH bootleg please? Ive looked around a few different places to no avail. :(

Okay, does this "bootleg telecine" have the Luke missing with the hook and the biggs footage or no? If it doesnt I see no point in downloading this...if it does than I so want a copy for my collection and need some advice on how to aquire it now. Doesnt seem to be available on torrent right now and isnt on demonoid either. Is it currently available on the newsgroups? (If so whats a good free newsgroup program?)

And since everyone else is weighing in on the signature thing I will too. Personally I found the big stormtrooper helmet FAR less distracting than the animated wrestling guys. FAR....LESS....Distracting

I cant win!! Has anybody else had so much drama over a simple sig?

BOT......No this bootleg didnt have the extra footage from my understanding. At either rate, I cant find this on any torrent site.

I notice something called "SWANH_Widescreen_Bootleg" posted in a.b.sw.

Size looks to be equivalent to a 2xCD AVI, but I haven't checked to see if this is the same video that I posted or something new.

The same person has also posted the fullscreen version by The Starkiller.

I have the original vhs bootleg video that Moth3r has a copy of. The quality is not too bad condsidering its age; no drop outs or anything.

Im not that technically minded, but have burnt it to dvd to preserve the tape. I'd be happy to mail a copy to someone on the forum for upload, so that all those interested can have access to it.

Are you sure the VHS you have is the rare "widescreen" bootleg with the Dolby stereo mix, and not the more common "fullscreen" bootleg with the mono mix?

definitely the widescreen bootleg, with a stereo mix. i was after the mono mix when i got hold of this so i was a bit dissapointed when i got it! never knew it was quite rare.

im still after a copy of the mono mix!

The tape came in a Hildebrandt covered case (old- style big box), and is recorded on a very early vhs tape (the heavy pitted type ones they used to make way back when) I imagine this tape has been around for many years!
