Is anyone else as pissed as I am about the Phantom movie coming out in December? I wouldn't be surprised if the Phantom gets a new costume at the end of the movie made of rubber with nipples on it. I really, really hate Joel Schumacher.

And the least they could have done was spend a little more time on the trailer...all they did was take a bucket full of one-second clips and through them together, then put music on it. They didn't even bother timing it out to the music.

Well, the teaser for Ocean's 12 ain't much better. Actually it's mostly just animation and the telltale music.

As for Phantom, I've seen it on stage twice and absolutely love it. I don't think I want to ruin the memory by seeing the movie. I'm pretty sure it's reopening soon (if it hasn't already) here in Chicago and I might take my wife to see it. I dig on Andrew Lloyd Webber and other musical theatre. Seen Les Miserables, Phantom, and Miss Saigon from ALW and have also been to Rent a couple of times (this is my fave). And I have not seen any movie versions of any of these (save for the gorefest version of Phantom with Robert "Freddie Krueger" Englund -- I just couldn't say no).

Let's give Schumacher the benefit of the doubt; after all, he did give us Tigerland and The Lost Boys.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Am I mistaken, or isn't Phone Booth from Joel "batman & robin" Schumacker as well? And Tigerland was great, too.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Yeah, but Phone Booth was an ironclad, foolproof b-movie scenario. They couldn't even screw it up when they reworked it for Cellular.

Everyone knows B&R sucked hard.

BTW, which previous film versions of The Phantom of the Opera do you people prefer?

There's been more than one previous film version? I only knew about the Englund slasher version.

Silent w/ Lon Chaney Sr. is hard to top; the Claude Rains version is pretty good, though.
