Still here?
Seriously, there will be spoilers!
You asked for it...Spider-Man unmasks in this issue, and it is freaking glorious. I really did not believe Marvel would do it, which probably means I haven't been reading enough background press - it seems like this sort of thing would have been announced. It's a controversial move - absent some horrible bullshit cosmic plot reversal, it changes the character forever. My opinion on this is, Thank God. Spider-Man is one of the most recognized heroes in the Marvel Universe, and it's time for him to get the respect he's deserved for 40-something years. Also, J. Jonah Jameson's reaction is about as wonderful as one might expect (to preserve some suspense, I will not tell you exactly what it is).
Also in this issue, there's a whole bunch of stuff with the actual plot of the Civil War. It's less interesting (to me) than the Spidey stuff, but it's pretty cool - the Young Avengers get recruited, we find out how Nick Fury is handling all of this, and the tide of public opinion continues to waver dangerously. Despite my happiness about Spider-Man, I have a bad feeling that this story isn't going to end well for Tony Stark. Mark Millar seems to be building up to a pretty big payoff, and I am definitely sticking this ride out.
