Happy to hear that. I was thinking that the controller was either going to be the coolest thing ever or the stupidest. The Wii sounds like the most revolutionary console on the market. If they get some other cool games out for it. With a few exceptions, the next-gen consoles all have mostly sports games only out. But I'm not going to be getting anything for a while, at least until they get commonly availabe, which will be a few months yet.

....I need to see if WalMart or Rhino has a Kiosk where I can play it...

If not I might have to drive to Johnson City.

Alright, I've decided to get the Wii. I hope I can get one in time for Christmas, and I especially hope they restock Zelda TP by then

I got a Wii on Sunday and I really couldn't be happier. I bought Zelda and Red Steel, but I ended up playing Wii Sports all morning when I brought it home. That game is so damn fun. I woke up this morning and my arms were sore. I guess I was pitching too hard in the baseball game. I gotta play this thing more often, it's a pretty good workout.

I dunno, I'd have to say that the baseball was my least favorite (although it was still fantastic). My friends and I spent the most time playing either tennis or golf.

Actually, my brother and I got pretty frustrated with baseball because we could barely hit off each other. We played I don't know how many games and nobody ever scored. I think boxing, tennis, and bowling were my favorites. I even had my mom over to play a game or two of bowling. She hasn't played a video game since pac-man but she picked it up right away. It amazed me that you could actually curve your ball by tilting the controller. Crazy.

If they made a Power Glove Wii controller, every household in America would contain a Wii.

The power glove was a NES gimmick that merely read movements from the fingers, and did not read spacial axis movement or had a gyroscope of any kind. Good old 80s gimmick from videogame manufacturers, along with R.O.B. and the SEGA 3D glasses for Master System.

Hey, Zion, when you get a chance, tell us how Red Steel is, okay.

It's getting pretty middling reviews so far, so I expect it to be worth no more than a rental.

you might want to wait a week on that. apparetly a Nintendo representative has to visit the store and autherize it in order to activate it. I went to gamespot today and they had the kiosk set up, but it wasn't active and there were no Wii-motes.

I'll let you know as soon as I play it, which hasn't happened yet. Wii Sports and Zelda won't let me move on to another game yet.


Zion, what do you think of the Wii controller and Zelda swordfights? I was wondering if it worked well, or if it was, to take an idea from a previous post, a stupid powerglove-style gimmick.

From what I've played of it so far, it works out pretty well. You don't have to stand in front of your TV and swing your arm around like a maniac, you can just sit there and use a quick flick of the wrist. With the wand, you can either slash horizontally, vertically, or do a straight stab. You can do a spin attack by slashing the nunchuk horizontally. And if that wasn't enough, you can also do a jump attack by targeting and pressing A just like the other Zelda games. The control is a bit different for sure, but I think it's pretty cool. And I have yet to experience any sort of unresponsiveness or delay from the controller.

Man oh man do I want a Wii. The PS3 is cool and all, but what new stuff is it bringing to the table besides better graphics? The Wii is a totally new way to play. The ability to acess a huge back catlouge of games is beyond awesome. I wonder how many of those contests I've entered to win a Wii...oh well, that's what Santa's for, right?
