This stuff is nothing new.  Some people are always saying the end is near.   Many thought the end near when the black plague hit, I am sure many thought that WWI and/or WWII was going to be the end.   Same with the cold war.   Many thought W. Bush was the antichrist, many thought/think Obama is.    Doomsayers always abound.

Of course it's nothing new.  But to hear it from a forum regular is always a bit disturbing.
