Get 98 SE.

98 SE doesn’t really offer all that much extra other than more IE integration. Yuck. I run the unofficial 98 service pack and it’s fantastic. Finally, Windows 98 recognizes USB flash drives.

Well, a joke is a joke. He should really get the Blu-ray version, though.

No, you don’t. I was joking. That’s why I said he should really get the Blu-ray version instead of the 98 SE.

Sony VAIO PCG-807k laptop, Windows 2000, 14.1" screen, Intel Pentium 3 650mhz, 128mb ram (though I cheekily upgraded this to 192mb - that’ll teach them), a 12gb HD, an 8mb ATI graphics card, and it plays DVD discs! It even came with Office 2000 - for free.

It has 2 usb ports people - and it’s own detachable PCMCIA wireless card too - we are through the looking glass here…

Take that, Handman - Pentium III is where it’s at! Rad!

😉

My MBP is going on six years and runs as well if not even better than when I got it. Only modification has been swapping in a 2.5" SSD when my HDD was on its deathbed. Wish I had done that sooner!

My wife has been getting into a new PC game called Raft, but my current desktop PC is pretty crap at running it. So I’m looking into finally building a new PC again.

I think I’ll wait until Amazon Prime Day to buy any parts, though.

Frankly, these days you’re legitimately better off buying a pre-made system. Individual parts costs are through the roof and so it’s actually cheaper to buy pre-made now.
