Personal Obsessions

Author

This is the thread where you reveal to your fellow OT.comers your own personal obsessions, fixations, etc., putting them up on display and for possible ridicule. The only rule: submit no lies, exaggerations, joke posts, etc. or I will sic Jason Voorhees on you.

My personal obsession: I'm fixated on collages; I can't stop making them. My desk drawer is full of magazine/newspaper/book clippings, and they keep on adding up. It got so bad in the past that I had to throw out a whole stack of collages - and clippings - because I was running out of room for new ones.

Details and care for (relative) "perfection". Equilibrium might fit better though.

... Why is he hiding the crucial part with his palette ?!!!

It's not always easy to convince a person how crucial it is.

Anybody who knows me, meets me or reads anything I write knows that I have one major obsession:

Film.

I never stop thinking about it. Ever. Unless I read a good book or listen to a great album.

My life's other obsession is James Bond.

I also have an obsession with a few directors, actors, writers, bands so that I study them like a history scholar.

This is probably the reason why I have a mini encyclopedia in my head when it comes to Kubrick and Hitchcock.

Oh, and the prequels squelched it for a while, but I think we all have a healthy Star Wars obsession...

I'm a collector. In addition to my Star Wars, I have my childhood coin collection, interesting old books, the odd antique item, anything really. Not quite a hoarder but I don't like to get rid of things.

Politics. Which leads me to collecting all kinds of political articles.

I have this gnawing desire to make a movie based on Camus's "The Stranger." I have an utterly brilliant conception for it. My mother told me I was "obsessed" when I was explaining it to her, simply because I've mentioned the book several times over the years.

I have many minor obsessions - muppets, monkeys, and Earl Grey tea (tea is an obsession in general).

^ Nuff said.

The writing on a coaster I am using has to be the right way up.

Or is that a compulsion? :P

I'm writing my family history.  I'm even planning spring break to drive to California to talk to my fathers cousins.

California ?.... I thought it only existed in films !

You remind me that excellent movie: "this must be the place" with Sean Penn...

I remember my PF phase back in High School.  Enjoy it while you can, young man.
