So BD25 or BD50? Hopefully the film grain will be kept in, which is my understanding.

See above. It's a BD50. As for the grain:

You_Too said:The clipping resulted in a loss of the grain that is present throughout the whole movie in the original, which we have restored by sampling grain from scenes where it wasn't destroyed.

...On closer examination of the HDX version, I could see now that it's oversharpened and that's why I thought it looked more compressed than it actually is. We're planning on maybe blurring it a bit to get back the cleaner look from before the oversharpening, and then sample some grain and re-add it over the whole movie to cover up whatever compression is left, and also to restore the grain in all scenes where compression might've reduced it.

^Sorry for the weird formatting.

Nice for the BD50 and glad you guys are working on the film grain. So would we download the BD50 then and burn it ourselves? The discs are a bit costly, even from Optical Quantum. Why not have a separate disc for the HDX version, BD25, and then keep everything else on the BD50? To keep better bitrate for the film. I'd like to have a 2-Disc anyway. OR both versions of the film on the BD50 and the extras on a BD25.

Of course seamless branching would be practically impossible due to the differing resolutions and quality of the sources. Full menus obviously.

What about high quality HDTV 1080i converted to 1080p BD25s of horror films not on Blu-ray yet? Or alternate versions? I'd like to see this continue.

It is a BD50 and that is it, we are not making anymore changes, and it is seemless using the angle feature, I have already tested a movie\s only BD with ALL audio options and subs just minus extras and you are able to switch between the 2 whenever you want by using the angle button on your remote, and there are full top and pop up menu's, this is truly a beautiful set, just as Conan is and all the rest we end up doing, so this is what it is.

and yes you will download and burn it yourself, I certainly do not have the means to burn everyone a copy lol, I will only do this for my Team and those that donated BD50's.

I am all for making other Horror movies from 1080i HDTV sources but it seems no one has access to these files, hell I already asked if anyone has the Night of The Demons HDTV file and got zero responses, so if you have some files which ones do you have?

lol the original Night of The Demons is not out, that is what is wrong, we just had part 2 released a few weeks ago but no part 1, and I am sure we will never see part 3 released.

I just want to drop a line and say we are still testing the menu's and I am also waiting on the artwork, so it is still moving along, just very slowly unfortunately.

Thanks

Now this artwork looks bad ass! he is also our new member of our Team, so those that donated to this project, this is what you will receive, I hope you like it.

Great job on the cover art! it looks really professional, i wish i had donated discs now for this and the Conan project, oh well maybe next time. I have only ever seen this on my uk dvd and i actually preferred the remake over the original, although i liked the ending more in the original, but i'm sure opinions will differ over which is better.

that box art is heart breakingly beautiful!

Sorry for the bump. Just eager for this release. The cover art looks great and the specs sound fantastic.

Also, looking forward to what Team Blu plans for the '68 NOTLD. Would you make it the correct OAR: 1:85 widescreen?

After viewing the absolutely spectacular Conan disc that Team Blu put together, I can't wait to see this.

Out of curosity, DJ, how may GBs did this project weigh in at?  Is it larger than the Conan disc?

It is the same size, and I am burning a test BD right now, fingers crossed we can finally get this out the door!

Excellent news:)  I can't wait to see how Team Blu knocked another project out of the park.

Well I really hope you guys like the total package, I even made 1 more small surprise since the Conan BD which I think you guys will like.

By the way this is uploaded to a file share site, so anyone interested just drop a PM and I will provide a link to the folder.

Thanks

Received my copy in the mail yesterday and couldn't wait to pop it in this morning.  The first thing I noticed was some very nice disc art.  Such a nice touch and something not easy or cheap to do!  Just a testament to the amount of work that goes into these projects.  Not to mention the beautiful slip cover and awesome cover art which is so much better than Twilight Time's.

The menu is nicely laid out and the option to switch between the Team Blu version and Vudu HDX Theatrical version on the fly is super sweet.  The audio options are very complete, I settled on the Theatrical 2.0 Linear PCM.  The colors are so much improved over Twilight Time's overly dark and blue version.  You can really appreciate this when viewing Team Blu's bonus content that compares the 2 side by side in real time, a nice 10 minute flow showing just how bad Twilight Time's is and just how good and balanced Team Blu's is.  There are a ton of fun bonus features ranging from interviews to booklet scans which really make this a definitive version of the film.  The amount of work that went in to this project is evident from the moment you pop it in.  Team Blu have really outdone themselves and continue to impress with their attention to detail.  The film has truly never looked better.  Many thanks to the team for all their hard work and dedication to bringing us these wonderful titles!  I couldn't ask for a better and more complete package!

@djchaseb: Thank you so much for your review! And for appreciating what we did.

This might sound weird since I'm part of the team but I can't wait to get my copy! haha
