After all these years, I'm sure all the actors from the OT have shrunk to some degree. ;-P

Man, with the rumors released on how Luke might fall to the dark-side I'm really worried that migh happen-san.

Is it just me or are the prequel Jedi like Joseph Kony? Both kidnap children and brainwash them to be soldiers ready to put their lives on the line.

No Disneyesque Aladdin character in Ep 7 please. I can overlook this in Rebels. :-)

I don't think they'd really do such a terrible thing. Luke is too iconic and the whole point of Luke is that he can't be turned.

Definitely no singing. I mean with Disney you never can be 100% sure that there won't be any campy singing and dancing. The very thought of Darth, Yoda and the Emperor singing a show tune is enough to send a cold shiver up my spine. Brrrrrrr!!! Well they have rehashed Aladdin as a main character for Rebels, so who knows what Disney is capable of. I trust them not.

Yeah I hated when Disney did that with all the Marvel movies.

If I hear that the villain is named Darth then I will not even see the movie

I wouldn't mind seeing a CGI Ethel Merman and Bea Arthur belting out "Everything's Coming up Roses".

Reason being that dinner scenes, such as the one from Star Wars, was such a normal occurrence in movies that the audience could easily believe in the reality of the Lars family and their homestead. Juxtaposed with the alien strangeness of the following binary sunset, a simple dinner scene does more to make Luke's character relatable to the audience than any other interaction in the trilogy.

I agree it worked well in the original film, but the diner and dinner scenes in AOTC felt off.  Especially when Anakin was showing off to Padme.  Even the deleted dinner with Padme's family didn't feel like it belonged in the Star Wars universe... at least to me.  I guess it depends on how the dinner scene is presented.

Of course, I did not mean to imply that those scenes in the prequels had merit. What I meant to say was that even such a cliche movie situation can have merit if done intentionally to highlight another aspect of the film. The dinner scene in TPM never gave a clear contrast to the alien aspects of the film as there were two Jedi and an alien in the scene. It may have been more powerful if the business of the Jedi was completed and they left after the storm, then Anakin had dinner with his mother, allowing the surreal nature of the previous events to settle in and show that Shmi was just a normal mother trying to provide some constancy in the life of her gifted child. And I won't even mention the AOTC dinner scene.

Shouldn't that be "Everything's Coming Up Geonosis" ?

That's because it was stiff characters sitting at a dinner table staring at each other while spouting flat dialogue.
The dinner scene in Star Wars works because the actors make it look natural and create a scene we can relate to. They pass dishes and drinks and look like they are actually having dinner while talking and getting information across. Just as many of us will do this evening.

Pessimistic philosophy (such as "there will always be evil"). Star Wars is supposed to cheer us up, not depress us.

I really hope that the nature of evil in the Star Wars universe evolves. It has a more complex vision of good versus evil than it is often given credit for, and I hope that JJ and company don't think that simply giving us another cyborg wielding a red lightsaber will be acceptable in this regard.

One of the most interesting things about GL's sequel outline is the idea that they will be more surreal and spiritual in nature. If nothing else, Disney should take this aspect of GL's ideas into account.

I don't want the movies to focus on anything political. The OT handled that well by only having references to the political situation and the dictatorship being overthrown at the very end. The PT had too much focus on political corruption and the political aspect of war for Star Wars movies, which made it a lot less fun to watch. The ST should focus on the adventures of the characters and the battles between the good guys and the bad guys.

In response to the recent rumors: Luke turning to the dark side is the worst thing that could possibly happen. It would ruin everything that's happened so far.
